It is gorgeous out there-- feels more like spring with a bright sunshine and a blue sky dotted by wispy clouds. Feels weird to be talking about foothill and possible lowland snow next week.

Lots of unsolved cases in our region, unfortunately. Not to mention that possible serial killer in the metro this past year as well.

Big message of today was supposedly that organized precip would be well over by evening in the PDX metro-- yet it continues to rain in spots with many locations below freezing. Kinda an unexpectedly nasty ice storm for many today.

Lot of stations on the eastside of PDX in the 28-31 F range and copious precipitation moving in-- yikes 

Roads are a sheet of ice but those gusty south winds must be heating things up slowly and surely down here in Eugene

At least some ZR falling in the valley as temps Eugene to Portland are still mostly in the high 20s 

As usual it seems as though the cold air is more entrenched than models anticipated

The dangerous part comes in a few days when all of this thaws-- I'm sure there's gonna be a ton of tree damage 

Fwiw there's a large slug of moisture on its way from the south 

That band should slam someone in the near future. Nice to see upper levels cooling though

PDX-DLS is a phenomenal 17.7 right now-- not sure I've ever seen or even heard of it being that high 

Rain coming down and 28 degrees, not freezing on concrete yet but certainly is on surfaces
