  1. Sunday morning has some midlevel intrigue, although not as interesting as this morning's setup. Afternoon brings in a broad sfc based threat.
  2. ...And the quality of discussion on the main thread has improved drastically as a result!
  3. Yeah, no beef with him. We just disagree on what kind of weather we like. Oh well. I'd just prefer to keep the discussions in here
  4. I included the word 'civil' more as nomenclature than for emphasis, I did not mean to imply this.
  5. I would have called it that but I'm not mean mean Besides, it's way better done here than in the main June thread. There's actually a really nice discussion about past winter weather events in the PDX area right now. You know, normal 'offseason' PNW wx discussion. Plus this is a space where I feel like I can actually attempt a civil conversation with him without excessive restraint.
  6. What? This doesn't even remotely answer my question. I am saying that specific "dry days" stat is garbage. That one, in particular. At no point have you actually given me a solid reason why it's a good benchmark, let alone even attempted to defend it. Now you are getting all defensive for no reason.
  7. But what is the point of a statistical discussion if the statistics in question are completely arbitrary and have nothing to do with actual, tangible weather? There is no point!
  8. What? I am simply putting those stats into the context of how we see and experience the world. That's how this whole 'being alive' thing works. You can throw every weird, arbitrary stat at me but it will never tell me exactly how that day really was. You know, what it actually looked and felt like.
  9. I'm sure a very large portion of these days are dry, pleasant afternoons. This is the greenest the grass has been at my house this point in the year since 2012, and even 2012 was barely hanging on to the Spring green up. This year it's growing without remorse, forcing us to mow the lawn every week.
  10. It's the worst feeling watching it all drift away!
  11. ...either way, back to your regularly scheduled programming here. Please, if anyone has any interjections related to this ... "conversation" ... take it to the Preference War thread. Thank you!
  12. You have mentioned multiple times this spring that you have had it with the wet weather. You wouldn't even be spamming these stats if you simply 'did not care'.
  13. OR is too dry/warm for me. The Willamette Valley doesn't really get that many sub 70°F days during the summer. During a normal summer in Seattle we'll get 10-20.
  14. All this being said, I would miss the classic PSCZ gust fronts during Spring/Fall. Showers tend to become more nebulous in the PSCZ as you head east.
  15. yeesh! I don't think renton was attacking you bud.
  16. The excited react still disturbs me. What is that little guy doing? Writhing around like a worm? Why is it so fluid?!
  17. Currently enjoying the best thunderstorm in over a year. Brilliant lightning and loud, crisp thunder. Moderate rain to complete the picture.
  18. Also some beautiful striation along the base of these storms.
  19. After seeing flashes to the west all morning from distant storms, finally hearing some thunder as lifting enters the area.
  20. After an underwhelming start to “round two”, radar is lighting up to the SW, and the sky is turning definitively more bubbly. Could be the beginnings of more lightning chances
  21. Noisy little storm to the east of the Hood Canal. @MR.SNOWMIZER might be getting a heck of a light show right now.
