Finally finished my YouTube video of the wedge EF-4 tornado I saw on 3/31

Yep, I’ll be out chasing again!

Yeah that makes sense. I was on Hwy 149 near Hedrick looking south when I saw it form and touch down

Chased yesterday and saw the big wedge that started just northeast of Ottumwa. Actually saw it form from the first dust swirl in the dirt field and rapidly grow into a beast I could hear roar. I was set up in the perfect position to get the shot of a lifetime as it crossed Hwy 149, but my daughter who was seeing her first tornado became too scared and wanted to get as far away from it as possible so I had to drive away last minute. Still got some cool pics and video I’m working on.

I’m thinking the wind is going to be the biggest issue. Another run of the mill winter storm. I’m still sitting at .5” this month with one snowfall and it only snowed 2x in February.

Decent icing on elevated surfaces. Thankfully roads are ok.

Pouring rain here and 31 degrees. Classic is right!!

No wonder the GFS is trending away from any big snow here next week and cutting the system now. SER blossoming AGAIN.

See, the GFS already has me back down to 6”. Meanwhile Aberdeen SD gets 88”.

Clown maps are back!! Well I don’t know if they’ve ever really left $20 bucks says Omaha doesn’t get more than 4” this month. Any takers?

February will finish with only 8 below normal high days and 9 below normal low nights. Also snowed all of 2 times this month, but rained about 1.5” total. Thankfully one of the two times it snowed was about 6” of accumulation bc the other was just a dusting.

Local grid has 1-2” of rain for Sunday night. And then near spring weather continues.

Chasing in Kansas this weekend? Yes please!

Not quite full on spring, but for the end of February, above average so can’t complain!

Can definitely tell it’s getting late into February and the sun is stronger. 6-8” of snow around town 3 days ago and the majority of it’s gone. In fact temps have overachieved each day as well by about 3-5 degrees. 37 on Friday the day after. 48 yesterday. 45 so far today.

Enjoy your 1-2 feet of snow SoDak and Minnesota. The Euro did not come further south.

This one’s staying north. Hope we either get all rain or dry slotted at this point and can avoid any ice.

It’s “funny” to see the reports come in in town on social media. I received 6”. Measured on a hard flat surface out of the wind. Some fool 1/2 mile away measured 11”.
