  1. An undercutting pattern later this winter as the Pacific jet gets its act together would be textbook Nina. Just odd that the blocking regime has already commenced.
  2. A winter that saturates the SW isn't the worst thing in the world.
  3. EPS is brutal - ridge finally get shoved offshore out day 10 then positive anomalies return to the west coast.
  4. Cut off ends up further offshore which is probably what's needed to kill the west coast ridge.
  5. Euro operational is off on its own with the the weekend ridge heights and the longevity.
  6. Best indication of fall, since rain isn't imminent, is that the impressive ridge on Saturday and Sunday doesn't have the same heat of even two weeks.
  7. Hwy 1 is one of the great American highways.. even through the rain sounds like a blast.
  8. All models are having issues figuring out next week, but the trend of cutting off energy well offshore for it to only weakly be reabsorbed as a minor wave for a resetting ridge isn't great.
  9. Doubt the nws high forecast at my own peril, they continue to forecast mid/upper 90s west of Portland but skies are already smoke filled.
  10. The explosion of something in the gorge around 6am is strange. And you can see the coastal wind shift during the morning. Very cool.
  11. NWS forecasting mid 90s tomorrow in Portland area with the potential for thick smoke cover seems very optimistic.
