  1. did a brief flurry here in Tacoma but it’s stopped now, little taste of what’s to come possibly Monday
  2. Really hoping it works out for Portland here in the end, but this so far seems like areas from the columbia river north are more likely to get it this point, just a feeling I have that it will end up that way, most people in Washington have already had atleast 10-12 inches this winter, another round would really cement it here as a big time snow month, but I’m really hoping Seattle can get atleast a couple inches, not a major round of snow again and Portland can get a big dump, only time will tell what happens
  3. Little bit of snow falling in Tacoma right now, won’t stick around long though, not great runs for Portland this morning low looks to be right at the line of rain or snow there...just on the edge, hopefully it all works out well for them and they can get some Easterlies from the gorge, so far looking like Seattle southward is still looking like it’s getting an increasing chance now for Monday
  4. It will probably end up slightly farther north than models are projecting right now but looks better than earlier good for Portland at the moment
  5. I remember 2 ice storms 2008 and 2012, 2008 wasn’t as big of a deal as 2012, that was something else seeing branches raining down from all the huge tall fir trees out at my grandparents house in Lakewood, we lost power for awhile too.
  6. This overall looks like it’ll be a Portland to Seattle event maybe 1-3 inches in Seattle area more south of Olympia maybe? but let’s see what the euro is saying later and also as we get more runs the next few days
  7. Well gfs is a good overall run for Oregon, Portland area is going to be close to the south end of the event hope is still alive for them
  8. I think that chehalis north will be prime, I just don’t think the models are gonna take the low from landing in brookings OR to Forks WA in like 18 hours haha but we all thought February 11th was gonna be a slam dunk and it didn’t fully come to be
  9. Haha as sad as it would be for everyone it’s entirely possible the low goes far enough north to kill snow for everyone south of Everett, kind of seems unlikely it will go that far north though I think Portland or just north will be the battleground line, but only Mother Nature really knows haha
  10. Probability for snow increasing in Puget Sound area though, don’t lose hope just yet portlanders
  11. Don’t panic, it’s one run everything is subject to change it’s still days out and a long ride ahead!
  12. I hope spring comes soonish too, but I want another round of snow and cold one more time so this will go down as one of the best winters of all time officially, atleast for Washington anyways hopefully Portland can get in on this winter at some point.
  13. I enjoy the sun, I root for good thunderstorms too. I love both summer and winter, don’t like it when it gets hotter than 85 but either way Pacific Northwest is the best place no matter what season or weather!
  14. If it went to Astoria it’d be an Centralia chehalis north event essentially
  15. NAM is a little more north, if it verified it would be ideal for Portland. If it continues further north itll get riskier for southerners.
  16. Yeah the margin for error is very thin for the people in Oregon, in Washington the margin for error is much less, gonna be a stressful few days for snow lovers in the willamette valley and people south of centralia/chehalis.
  17. yeah it’ll be a low chance of this being major snow for both Portland and Seattle, maybe a moderate snow event Seattle south and big snow for Portland, maybe not. multiple ways it can play out though it’s a matter of inches on where the low goes.
  18. I hope that Puget Sound can score Saturday night-Sunday morning, will be interesting to see how far the precipitation from the Monday system makes it north into the Seattle area, people in the south sound stand a better chance than the north sound according to the runs, hopefully it’ll stay cold enough for the Portlanders
  19. Haha yes nws Seattle always goes conservative pretty much every time will see what they say closer to the event
  20. Nws Seattle discussion is not calling for anything like snow besides possible mix events a few times and overall says rain and warmer temps here in Seattle metro, wonder what their thoughts are on snow potential
  21. Wonder if this will be like April 2008 this winter, that was the latest in the winter I can remember seeing snow here, this winter seems like it could give us snow chances in March and April.
