  1. 2.76” here so far today on top of 1.69” yesterday. Quite the AR!
  2. Just got woken up by a loud long rumble in N Seattle. Next flash just a few minutes later. Glad I left the window open. It’s starting.
  3. I’m actually on the east coast this week and when I was leaving I was so bummed knowing I was gonna miss the only major event this year for central sound. Guess I didn’t need to worry. Weather station at my place reads 36.5 (up from 32.9 3 hours ago). My cam showed maybe a little over an inch of wet snow a couple hours ago but it’s melting quick now. Temp hasn’t been below freezing at my place since Saturday morning. Interested to see if that band sets up this afternoon as the Euro showed but overall this winter has been a theme of coming very very close but a lot of disappointment and potential wasted. Lots of days with snow in the air but never more than 2 inches on the ground in my neighborhood. December 20th was by far the best event, but not enough to save the winter. Hard to grade but maybe B-.
  4. Re-upping this today for no particular reason. Hope this encourages them never to post something this detailed this far out again. Adding the photo directly to the post for clarity.
  5. I’m all for the probability forecasts! I think they’re terrific and much more clear than what’s been done in the past. That said, the timing and precision of these is just silly. Perhaps PERHAPS if they were expecting a major storm, but for .1” up to max of 2? They don’t need to do this 5 days out.
  6. I’m dumbstruck that this is real. This event is 5 days away and they’re making 0.1” snowfall predictions?!? Even with the range, this is insane.
  7. Please tell me this is meant to be a joke? Average high in Seattle for this date is 51. I can never really tell when people are being dead serious vs. tongue in cheek here after seeing people earnestly use the word “torch” to describe a 1 degree single day temp deviation in December.
  8. Well, at least @SilverFallsAndrew was right about that North/South snow gradient after all…
  9. Got up to 32.5!!!…and then dipped back to 31.8 with more showers coming through….
  10. Watched a single flight leave SeaTac for SLC about 20 minutes ago on FlightRadar and nothing since. Hope most people trying to get out for holidays were able get out early.
  11. Still getting some decent showers moving through here. Amazing to see the ice add up and icicles growing in real time. Watched a neighbor chiseling into his car to get to his scraper, scraped for about 2 minutes and give up and go inside, all while it was continuing to rain.
  12. Three cheers for @TigerWoodsLibido!!!
  13. Let’s all focus on what’s really important….is it still below 32 in Eugene/Springfield? Do we have a NYE style countdown planned for midnight?
