I've been watching all day on the Leavenworth live cams! I had figured seeing it snow in Leavenworth might be my only shot at seeing snow this year with el nino! Hoping this week will change that, but it's been fun to watch it snow there in the meantime.

I really miss Walter Kelly. I always felt like you could tell how much he loved and geeked out over weather here.

I shadowed Jeff Renner for the day too! But I think it may have been for Jr. High. Back when I wanted to be a meteorologist and tornado chaser. No idea why I never pursued it, but I wish I had! I don't remember a ton of stuff from the visit, except that we got to watch the broadcast from the studio and I remember how Gaard Swanson had so many people around him during breaks doing his hair and makeup. More than any other anchor. No shade - it's just funny to me that that is what I remember! haha

Finally put up my weather station! I know on a roof would probably be best, but do you think this will still do okay for now?

Is there a specific reason why temp maps have colder temps as red and warmer temps as blue? It just doesn't seem intuitive.

In Bothell right now and it's finally snowing hard! Tiny flakes but lots of them. Starting to cover the beds and cold cars.

With the snow opportunities today and this week, is 10:1 or Kutchera the best map to use? Or will it depend on each individual snow situation?

Generally speaking, is any model run time (for any of the models) considered more accurate or given more credence? For instance, are the 00z and 12z somehow better or given more weight vs the 06z or 18z? If so, why?

I'm near Paine Field as well. Think there's any chance we make it through the night with all snow? I hope so!
