Light rain and 53.4°F. Max was 56.5 °F. Surprising how much warmer it got a little further south today. -

In the mountains, perhaps. None of ECMWF, NAM 3km, or HRDPS show any snow in the lowlands. -
Pretty sure you wish they could be forced back into the closet.

No text in that post. Cut straight to the morel of the story, in other words. -
Has to be some day. It must be a conspiracy against Christianity that they chose a date that Easter can fall on (which is basically a good chunk of Spring). IT’S A CONSPIRACY! ACT LIKE A VICTIM!

Feeling less bummed about not being able to make it to Texas for this one. -
Yes, but Transgender Day of Visibility has always been on March 31st. Well, ever since the day was thought up in 2009 or so it has. It just happens to coincide with Easter Sunday this year, that is all. https://www.reuters.com/fact-check/transgender-day-visibility-falls-annually-march-31-not-always-easter-2024-03-29/

Some parts of the West (such as New Mexico) have them. -
Surprisingly, no. Baltimore outranks it. But Savannah also outranks Baltimore. Go back to the post you are responding to and check that web page out.

Not even close. This claim doesn’t pass a basic smell test. C’mon, think for a moment instead of repeating the echo chamber. Ever hear of this little place called New York City? And indeed, the Port of New York and New Jersey dwarfs Baltimore in tonnage. Even the Port of Virginia (Norfolk/Portsmouth/Newport News) outranks Baltimore. https://www.bts.gov/content/tonnage-top-50-us-water-ports-ranked-total-tons What happened in Baltimore is bad, but a crippling blow it is not. It is more of an inconvenience on the big scale of things.

“Apocalypse…” “Infest…” their entomophobia is showing. -
It’s Old English, Ice. The English language has always been changing. Neologisms are part of that change.

Yet none of those sources are willing to be named. Curious. Almost as if someone is making sh*t up and posting it to social media. Imagine that. Seriously: have you ever seen a modern container ship close up? Or, better yet, been on one? Those things are massive, simply massive. Ventilation ducts the size of hallways. Jog around the outer deck once and you’ve gone over half a mile. Engines with cylinder bores four feet in diameter. And so on. A large ship that goes off course can easily take out a bridge. Easily. In fact, it has happened more than once. Here is one example: https://www.abcactionnews.com/news/region-sarasota-manatee/skyway-bridge-collapse-remembering-the-tragedy-40-years-later

Got close to that here… 0.92". Given my average rainfall, probably nowhere near a record. -

I think I had a 7/16 day last January. And a foot of snow on the trailing edge of that same cold snap.
