What does thickness have to do with temperature?

So is it going to snow or not? Looks like we may get the cold but suddenly it becomes drier

Thanks for all the responses on why 1950 was special but does anyone know why was that the case? What were the parameters causing the temperatures to be so colder than average for so long.

Everybody brings up jan 1950. What was so special About it? Does anyone have Sea and portland temps for that month?

Yeah ofcourse I know they are not good at the intricacies but they should hop on to the overall pattern. Saw it on Feb 2019 ah what a legendary month.

How is the possible that all the rain atmospheric rivers come at us and the one snow river goes to California.

I am planning to drive down to SF from Seattle on Saturday. Do you think i5 would be passable by then. I dont plan want to drive when it is snowing.
