It really was a treat this morning in southern lake county. Fat flakes were slowly falling from the sky. I probably got two inches of pure fluff but the sun is out and it is already melting. I see on radar there is action to the west, hope it fills back towards me As @Tonysaid the lake has been nice this year. Maybe having a warm early winter is good in the long run as it keeps the lake from freezing over IMG_0619.MOV

Only about 3 inches overnight for a storm total of maybe 5 inches. Like @Tommentioned that lake effect just didn’t get far enough inland for us. Interestingly, areas around south Milwaukee/Racine/Kenosha got in on the LES with close to a foot. As you go south lake countie missed out but once you get back into Cook the 12+ numbers return. Midway got 17.7 inches as of 6am!

Just saw a report of 8.9 at Midway!! They may beat O'hare for once Snowing steadily in Buffalo Grove but only a couple inches. Crazy that I could go 15 miles south along the lake to Evanston where they already have 8 inches.

Two inches last night before today’s main event. You can see the “snapshot in time” of recent snows (I was able to decipher bc each snow by consistency/weight/shade).

@Tom and @brianc400right there with you. Snow took a while too accumulate because it was so wet, only had about an inch. Maybe we'll get another inch when its all said and done but difficult to measure with the wind

Took a look at our WSW before it expires at 6PM... looks like they snuck in total accumulations of 8-12 to match what has actually fallen. Yesterday it was suggested 5-9 inches. Nonetheless, I think LOT did a great job forecasting this storm. It’s tough forecasting when their is a mix involved and they just about nailed it.

About 9 inches with a light snow falling. The radar keeps filling in with the help of the lake. I think I'll be able to get into double digits when its all said and done

7 inches in Buffalo Grove

2 inches of snow so far in Buffalo Grove, IL. Much wetter than Monday’s storm. Windy with small flakes

LOT mentioned the lake would have less of an effect this time around. This shows otherwise, all the way up to GB there is lake enhancement.

LOT had an interactive Q&A on twitter tonight. It is clear that they are are more conservative from their tone. Nonetheless really interesting to hear directly from the forecasters

Hard to tell for certain with drifts but I’d guess 7 inches in Buffalo Grove, IL. Currently getting some big flakes now with the help from the lake. Can’t help to notice NE winds that could continue bringing snow off the lake. my dog is enjoying the snow quite a bit as well! IMG_0409.MOV IMG_0411.MOV

Got caught by surprise with this one. Roads are snow covered in Buffalo Grove, IL. Close to 2 inches have fallen after just a Special Weather Statement late afternoon. IMG_0379.MOV
