    I remember someone asking if they had known anyone who called ZR "silver thaw." I was going through a PDF on flooding events from 1808-1949 and saw it mentioned.

    Finished the day with 10.5 inches. Definitely one of the best storms I've experienced.

    I went into winter expecting no snow so I'm pumped today! Hopefully everyone to the south can get some snow before winter is over.

    Looks close to 3 inches so far. I've got bronchitis so today seemed like a good day to call in to work and watch the snow.

    Went to watch the ice buckle along the shore of the Fraser River this morning. There wasn't a whole lot in Pitt Meadows so I drove up to Mission where the river was full of ice.

    Ladysmith is getting a nice band of snow right now.

    I'm pumped for the cold up here. I'm used to the outflow winds eating most of the moisture in these situations so I wasn't shocked to see the snow totals dropping.

    Its been snowing on and off all morning at my work in Aldergrove. It's been sitting around 33 all morning so not much is sticking.

    I was going to check out the big dump of snow in the mountains around Whistler today but my wheel bearing had other plans . At least I snagged a few pics of the mountains finally covered in snow on my tow ride home.

    That's the storm that brought me to the forums. I was in Metchosin when it hit. It took out 42 trees on our property and no power for 5 days.

    Lots of outages in BC right now. I have gusts around 30mph and flickering lights.

    Got down to 29.3 for the second freeze last night with lots of frost in the blueberries.

    The mountains to the north of Pitt Meadows got a couple of inches last night.

    I love seeing the increase in snow depth on the mountains on days like this.

    Basement and ceiling on the top floor are leaking everywhere. A bunch of neighbors are reporting the same issue, gotta love living on a flood plain

    It's been so long since I've seen snow this deep! There's going to be a nightmare commute for people in Vancouver this morning.

    Dumping with massive flakes. Already at 4.5 inches

    Heavy snow and east winds ripping up the Fraser right now. Visibility is falling fast here and I even have some drifts forming!

    Snow blowing sideways is my absolute favorite. Im contemplating on driving out to hope to experience the wind chill from the outflow.

    Super light snow on the south end of Golden Ears right now. Really weird that nothing was forecasted today and the radar doesn't seem to be picking it up.

    Beautiful morning here with some freezing fog and a very cold low of 19 last night.

    Made it up to 39 today but luckily most of the snow stuck around. Gonna be interesting driving to work tomorrow with all the snow melt freezing tonight.

    Been coming down pretty hard since 4pm here. Gonna be interesting seeing if the snow turns over here at some point tonight.
