  1. I don't think there's any way he's picking her as she's a never Trumper! He's going to be more careful who he selects for various positions since he's been backatabbed too many times already.
  2. Forgot to mention, but yesterday evening I did have a thunderstorm that died right over my community. Still got a nice downpour of 0.17" with a beautiful full double rainbow immediately afterwards! No rain had been forecast yesterday, but just so it made it down here. Not sure if we'll see any storms today or not. They could suddenly develop and I see a few small cells developing up north. Cumulus clouds have been building here even with high clouds moving in so that might be a good sign. https://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/md/md1548.html
  3. I was just going to ask if you're getting some action now! Glad for you. Slowly filling in more dry areas
  4. Well you got lucky with the overnight action then as those were scattered. I was startled awake by a loud clap of thunder after 3 am, but only 0.01" as it passed south of here.
  5. Yesterday it was hot here as well with hardly any wind, and with dews in the upper 70⁰s making for a heat index of over 100⁰ here. Today feels much better.
  6. For awhile I thought the first round of storms this morning might mostly miss or weaken, but more cells developed south and strengthened just in time. It got very dark and poured rain at times, but the severe thunderstorm warning wasn't necessary here as winds barely even reached 30 mph, which was great. The first round dropped around 1"or so and then the next round almost caught up with the first one and dropped another inch or so, and ended up with 2.10" of rain Wow that was awesome and it rained from nearly every direction so that it watered plants under all eaves of the house. This rain saved my brother's crops just in time Max rain rates on my weather station briefly showed around 5" to 7" at times.
  7. The line is bowing out in Nebraska. Is this the beginning of a derecho? Maybe it's good the front sagged further south last evening taking the severe stuff further south, but we desperately need more rain. Hoping for at least 1". 2" would be better.
  8. It was a very warm muggy evening and I think the front has stalled about overhead. And just now some storms have developed along I-80 just north of my location. I'm wondering if that's part of the WAA wing which may have the heaviest rainfall amounts? Seeing some lightning with thunder now.
  9. Clinton is probably in a better spot for good storms this week than I am. Still very dry here with lawns drying up again. But only 3 - 4 miles se. of me has green lawns after around 3" of rain from June 24 to July 2.
  10. In not married so I don't have to worry about pleasing a wife. Lol And I'm wondering how you have time to be on, or read and keep up with two weather forums? And maybe Discord as well.
  11. It's nice to see L.A. law enforcement supporting Trump.
  12. Yes I noticed, and it would be our luck for it to mostly miss even here. I don't want the potential severe wind part of it though, but that probably will pass south or southwest of me anyway.
  13. That middle map with the red stripe through Iowa actually is just one run of 'forecast' total precipitation by the GFS. First I thought it was a radar estimation of what has already accumulated and noticed that wouldn't be accurate. JFYI, here are some other maps of radar estimated accumulated precipitation in the time period stated on the images.
  14. Yet another tiny rainfall event here yesterday afternoon amounting to 0.16". Some rumbling thunder to the south last evening, but sadly that missed. At least it wasn't drying off. I'm looking forward to next week when it's looking more active. Hopefully can get some ring of fire action going across this area by midweek.
  15. You might have to eat your shoe (remember what you said) sometime yet, but I certainly hope not!
  16. I just got my information from someone who has visited and he says they do have drug sniffing dogs, but I don't know how much or how they use them. Also sounds like Hunter was there just before or even when it was discovered. I guess it's not a big deal cuz nothing much will happen to Hunter anyway, but if this would have occurred during a Trump White House it'd be wall to wall news coverage.
  17. Nope, it would be very unlikely any regular visitor could've gotten past security with that, plus there's secret service in every room from what I've heard. Many are saying it's 99.9% chance it's who we all suspect it is..... Joe's crackhead son, someone with security clearance. The only people who get to bypass security at that level are immediate first family members. And the original story for two days was that it was found in the library, but the media and White House are in cover-up mode and are now saying it was discovered in The West Wing. They should have drug tested everyone of the press corps etc there, and they could go through security camera footage (every room likely has security cameras) to see who planted it, but they would never do that! Remember, Hunter got thrown out of the Navy for testing positive for cocaine!
  18. That's probably because you're much further south.
  19. On Sunday I had the 5th and last consecutive day of rainfall, but all of them were frustratingly light amounting to a total of just 0.81". I got 0.30" on Sunday from morning and again from isolated pm showers. An isolated storm that afternoon dumped heavy rain on my brother's farm about 6 mi Southeast. Nearby places last week, especially to the south, got more. I'm grateful for everything we got and was nice having a little rain every day! It was just enough to green up the lawn's a little, but it's definitely dry yet. BTW, my June rainfall totaled just 1.88". Happy Fourth of July everyone
  20. I heard the first cicada here last evening too.
  21. Well at least there's a nice steady rain attm. BTW, only picked up 0.15" yesterday with places just south around 1" or more.
  22. I'm a spring, summer, fall guy and don't mind humidity if it produces thunderstorms. Not enough storms in the western states for me, or even enough around here this year. Summer it's flying by way to fast!!
  23. So did you hear a lot of thunder with the little cells yesterday too? And you must be back home again?
  24. Yeah there's no comparison between those two because Trump is responsible for the overturning of Roe vs Wade which likely already saved thousands of lives! And it's up to the individual states on what they allow which is the way it should be. Some liberal states like CA are probably even more lenient now then they were about abortion while others aren't, of course. But if someone wants to delete a thread, I really don't mind, and actually prefer that once in a while as rarely revisit or have time to look at old posts anyway.
