The ensembles weren't terrible. I suppose. They all show a similar signal for heights to build quickly around ~160 W. The CMCE is the most bullish. It looks like the Pacific may shut down. 18z GFS in 21 minutes

What an incredibly amazing vast area of bitter air to the north. Wow

Day 7.5 - 10 is interesting if we had amplification. I still like this run a lot better than previous GFS Ops.
