  1. So are you finally having someone that will give Mark a run for the money and be like the old fun Mark?
  2. It was a waste of a downvote. Whatever it was they were trying to stop it sure didn't work! It was about as useful as the Yaker Tracker device some schools used! Did you get to be in the unlucky school that used this machine? The downvotes are a digital version of this. ^^^^^^^^
  3. Here in Aumsville we get it that way too. I feel us and HIO are very similar in terms of climate.
  4. Why did you get a downvote? All you did was post the temps for Hillsboro. Hillsboro Envy? I''m actually glad to know that. Our high was 83F so we were one higher then HIO and our low was 46F and no sun till noonish. How much different is HIO then PDX's weather?
  5. What would either do if you make one taller or smaller then the other? What kind of geoengineering of either of these mountains would create the best mix between a Jesse and Tim climate balance other then current?
  6. Is this west coast warming (especially Oregon and California) related to global cooling or warming? It seems to me that this is proof enough of a warming world (with or without internal manipulation by people and governments) and various severe events like Fukushima,2004 India earthquake.etc which made pretty significant geological impacts beyond what the MSM press says. These geological impacts play small but important roles in climate shifts the more they happen.
  7. What was the setup of the 1988 heatwave and is it any different then the current one which seems very similar? Both had hot starts and ends to the month though 88 didn't have the thunderstorms associated with it. Here is Salem's version where the heat on the west was most intense. The first link above also has a summary of September of that year. It seems pretty similar minus the thunderstorms that brought all the rain this year. This feels more El Nino then a La Nina. I wonder if the oceans may be 'venting' out a lot of heat in addition to whatever outside forces may be controlling our weather? Oh and here is the only GFS chart I can find for this and it was hard to find as I had to remember the exact place. https://www.wetterzentrale.de/reanalysis.php?jaar=1988&maand=9&dag=29&uur=1800&var=2&map=2&model=noaa It feels very similar in a creepy way. PS: Is it something I said or is something on my face? Statesman_Journal_Sat__Oct_1__1988_.pdf Statesman_Journal_Sun__Oct_2__1988_(1).pdf
  8. Other countries have DEW which were used in the fires of CA. There are certain signs of it is all I'll say as I'm tired. We have been being played with. The space force was 'not created by Trump he isn't that much of a genius! Firefighters have come forward with this saying about microwave effects being used where houses are burnt to ashes while plastics around survive untouched!
  9. I saw him a bit ago when he only had a couple random videos up in no particular order then recently rediscovered him thru City Data Weather section's thread here. https://www.city-data.com/forum/weather/3155595-geodiodes-climate-casebook-other-series.html Here is his playlist in case you don't like the thread. even if you already know this kind of stuff it's still worth taking a look just for the background videos AND it's very relaxing. I didn't know the cause of the insane total rainfalls of Asia in his special Asia Monsoon one nor where the word came from. It means "Change in wind direction" as it starts in the Arabic region providing little to no rainfall there before dumping copious amounts that makes Olympia WA look like Medford in comparison. I wish to go to the wettest places now just to experience one good monsoon but knowing my luck I'll have our drought follow me and they won't get a drop in the ole bucket! (Picks up a rock and drops it on the head of a cute Korok to make it rain after he gives me his seed) Ofph! Now we have endless rain!
  10. Does the PDF even show up for you? I've never done this before so I don't know how it looks on your end of things. Should I just do a clip instead of the page? It's from The Seattle Times. Also how widespread was the 78 outbreak? Did Oregon/California get anything out of it? AHA! I finally found it!!!! It says Storm booms through area. It appears Snow Wizard was right about the timing as a man was on the roof of the Snoqualmie High School and was critically injured at 9:15am after being struck by lightning from an intense storm. City Light also had two transformers knocked out at 9:24am affecting a three block area. How far does City Light's infrastructure even cover? I assume just the downtown district.............. 11. Is this one part of the pattern of your 78 event? It seems to be focused though on Eastern Washington so I wonder how far west it got? If it is a separate event does it seem like as intense? Seattle_Daily_Times_1978-07-09_35.pdf
  12. How about the 80s and 90s? I wasn't here before 1998 really so I am wondering if those eras spelled any good ones for the PNW? Did years like 1992-93 or 1995-96 have good ones since those were historic winters? Do historic winters usually translate to decent shoulder season cold front events? Did you lose power in the 78 one?
  13. What kind of atmospheric setup is needed for a September south wind event and how would that translate in the surface?
  14. What are best years of thunderstorms in Oregon? I have access to their Oregon News Archives over at Newspapers.com which includes Statesman Journal full run and would like some recommendations of good thunderstorm years? Here is for example one from April 1988 from far away.. What would cause a situation like this to experience lightning flashes from a system so far away? I wonder if there was any unusual atmospheric effects on or around the same time that may have 'magnified' the lightning more then it would've normally been seen? 15. What's with the negative votes? Carefully reviewing it doesn't seem I broke any forum rules. Does red mean negative or does it mean just a low vote count on here because of being new? .
  16. There should've been some kind of thread about this. I'm surprised there was not. Back in the old days of forums in general there usually was a dedicated topic and anything related to the major upgrade would be posted on that thread. I was looking for a section dedicated to the website issues and couldn't find it. At least you replied so thanks.
  17. Is this a bug? You can't view the forums as a guest anymore forcing people to register which makes ZERO sense. I can understand disabling commenting but don't disable guest viewing please!
  18. Why is the summer so warm for the west then? It feels so disconnected from the 2010-2012 solar minimum. Wish Phil would clock this.
