I can't believe I went this many years barely knowing what Fortnite was, and why so many people are into it.
Maybe I was wrong and he was still trying to collect hidden pokemon in Pokemon Go. A VERY controversial game that led several people to deaths by placing them in dangerous areas causing Nintendo to stop doing it. They were going to do the same concept with Mario Kart on a phone where you use a real car to go to certain spots to collect rewards but when that show happened with Pokemon I can see why they cancelled.

Not sure why he thought this was a good idea. Sad and tragic. Hikers are urged to hike only before 10am, but article says he most likely started his hike when it was 118F with 91% humidity.

Geez. Couldn't put his phone down for ONE minute so he could rest and start early. Too much Fortnite?

Question is, why was the Biden administration hiding the info for so long?
Seriously you expect him to distinguish one intel from the next when he can't find the bathroom at night?

Yup. Looks to be warmer than forecast. It’s 88F at home.
Cool bias at work. I wonder what certain people think of our unusually chilly summer so far?

With minimal moisture, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jasper or Pisgah get dry lightning...that would be a game over...
Jasper is up in Alberta Canada so how would that affect us?

We always get a lot of folks here do fireworks thru 1am 7/4-5. About a week after it's usually just 1 high person doing a loud one at some random time of night and sirens follow (lol). I haven't heard one in a couple weeks so it seems like some people are aware things can easily just light on fire this year.
Or perhaps a crappy economy has them pinching their pennies as fireworks are a VERY expensive hobby to get into and aware of the depleting materials required. Nahhhhh that couldn't be it.

If Flatiron is seriously still trying to argue that this hasn’t been a hot summer, I don’t know why anyone is even bothering to respond at this point.

You are splitting hairs. Shawnigan, MUCH further north, has an even bigger departure. Eugene is on pace for their 2nd warmest July of all time, PDX 5th, not much of an outlier. And if we look at the east side, this month is blowing away pretty much every July one record over a wide area.
As my previous post which you ignored, stated, it really comes down to how prone an area is to marine influence with weak onshore flow and amazingly consistently warm upper level airmasses.
Face it. We are the desert hinterlands now. KSEA and points north are all part of the Neo PNW

I've never really had the desire to downvote en masse. Might be a generational thing, Too bad we don't have stickies here, you could post instructions for doing it so everyone could vent their frustrations en masse.
Good. Shows you still have right from wrong.

The upcoming pattern is actually pretty unusual in the context of the last 9 years.
Maybe similar in parts of the West as far as observed weather is concerned, but persistent large scale NW flow @ 500mb (instead of SW flow) hasn’t happened in the summer east of the Mississippi for almost a decade. I’ve been waiting for this type of pattern for a long a** time. ️️️
Wish replies would work instead of flaking out on me on certain users won't post.

Funny how you can predict how every other GFS run will end up without even looking at it.
Reminds me of how investor reports blindly lead stock money people astray with the Switch Pro rumors.

The 2015 comparisons were not invented by me. See the June 2021 thread.
It was a speculative joke. And July has failed to live up to the hype.
Like the Switch Pro we are not allowed to have?

At this time in 2015 we were at the start of a troughy period much more "impressive" than anything we're going to see this month. From the 21st through 27th PDX averaged 75.6/58 with .54" of rain, good for -4.7 for the 7 day period including a sub 70 high on the 25th.
#ColdJulyMemories
That would've made Robert Felix and a few others pee in their pants at the thought of it. Should've made some really juicy headlines to prove Global Warming is a farce. Never mind the later years of massive hot weather scrolling on the bottom of the screen.
