  1. Any guesses on when somewhere in Western Washington hits 65? I've got lots of tomato and pepper starts in my garden window. Would love to get them outside for some warm spring weather, even if for just a few days. The long range outlook for March looks like it could be warmer than normal. Woot woot!
  2. Looks like we are going to be pretty wet for about a ten day stretch.
  3. Is that some kind of wine barrel fountain thing?  Did you make that?  I bet the sound is amazing.

  4. I was with you until you went and said............"flowers freshened...........LOL!"
  5. Puget Sound Energy just sent out an email asking people to turn down their thermostat, don't use your clothes dryer and try and conserve natural gas. I guess the grid is under a load.
  6. This will not be a memorable event for me. Statistics aside, most people in Western Washington just want some snow in their back yard. 0 degrees, 23 degrees, -45 degrees........whatever Did we get any snow? No? Okay, next.
  7. Holding out hope for a dusting in the South Sound. I know Tim will be pounding away today showing me how it likely won't happen. Just the charts and the maps, I know.
  8. I think south sound gets in on the action later but right now are seriously getting shadowed by the olympics. Need that front to sink past us a bit to the south and hope it wrings out the moisture in the atmosphere to give us a few flakes. Happens often but each time is different.
  9. A lot of times these arctic fronts drop some surprise snow. An inch or two of powder popping up out of nowhere is not out of the question. Chances. We have chances. That's all I really want.
  10. Well, anywhere from Corvalis to Bellingham could see snow coming up. A bit early to declare Oregon the big winner. Have we learned nothing about the models? Wait a few hours and they'll spit out a new solution. In the past the modeled precipitation usually lifts further north than expected. I think everyone is going to get some snow. Believe.
  11. It's not easy with all the micro climates we have west of the cascades from Bellingham to Portland and beyond. Mentioning possibilities seems best. From the Olympic Peninsula to the convergence zone in Everett to people who basically live in the mountains(Tim) or Issaquah or the Chehalis gap or where the cold air floods out of the Columbia into Portland it's just hard to come up with a one size fits all type of forecast.
  12. NWS Seattle usually doesn't hoist winter storm advisory or warnings until most places already have received substantial snowfall - 1-3" Hey guys, it's snowing - LOL! When they hoist one too much in advance it's a major sign of a rug pull inbound. Watch carefully. I hope they don't say a word and keep the temps in the mid 40's through the extended. That means we are golden.
  13. The second half is going to be a nail biter. Hoping we can squeak another game out of this season. How cool would it be to sit and watch the Hawks while there is some snow on the ground.
