  1. Sourdough Fire has shut down the North Cascades. Diablo is safe for now.
  2. I can smell whiffs of smoke today. Satellite shows lots of clouds and you can see smoke mixed in. Western halves of Washington and Oregon still have good air quality.
  3. Smoke-wise, it looks like models are now starting to react to the recent plum from the Sourdough Fire. Even without that smoke being produced, smoke from BC could be headed our way early Saturday and it looks to last through the weekend. The models are a bit shaky right now with more overcast skies coming in too with some chances of rain Saturday and Sunday, so take this as a 50/50 right now.
  4. OREGON Tons of new fires in Oregon today, especially in central and southern Oregon within the Umpqua National Forest area of the Cascades. Oregon has three major wildfires in the state, one, the Bedrock Fire is over 12,000 acres so far and roughly east of Eugene and Springfield. The S Danebo Fire within Eugene suburbs is a bit concerning, now at 2.8 acres in size. Another concerning fire near Eugene is the Harrisburg Fire which has forced evacuations of several homeowners. The fire is was growing fast but has sense slowed. We will find out more in the morning. WASHINGTON Washington has two major fires, but overall, it's pretty calm in the state compared to last year. The two big fires are the Eagle Bluff Fire which is tied to BC's fire nightmare and the Oie Highway Fire near Benton City. The Newell Road Fire has been contained.
  5. Positive news. Models show smoke trajectory will be blowing away from Western Washington and Oregon the next several days.
  6. Couldn't be more blessed to live here. Beautiful day in Everett and looking at the forecast, we have low 70s most of the week, except for two days at the end of the week that will be high 70s, possibly low 80s. Today is perfection. Currently 68F which has been our high the past two days. Nice breeze, blue sky with white clouds. Lovely. Hope you all are doing superb!
  7. That is because it is being watered by the sweat of the populace.
  8. Update to this story. Within about ten minutes of me posting this, there was a second fire in the same area as the fireworks (and the same spot the fire happened on Sunday) and I had to call the fire department. Now I no longer think this was accidental. I think this person is trying to start a fire in this location for some reason. Again, it is right at the edge of a forest. I would have updated sooner, but I had to go to work. Now I am worried what will happen if I am not home and hear and see the smoke from the fire. I doubt anyone will call. It could cause real problems and cause a forest fire within the city as well as risk many homes.
  9. No rain so far... So true story, some idiots were shooting fireworks off by the forest yesterday, and around dinner time, I noticed smoke. The smoke kept getting more and more, so I ran down and there was a fire. Called the fire dept and by the time they came, the smoke was becoming billowy and black. Legit these idiots almost started a wildfire in Everett. And you know what I hear again right now? Fireworks in the same area...
  10. Currently 65F. I can see clouds to the west and north! Beautiful day and her are some photos from earlier.
  11. Come on over! We're the last unfounded location in the Puget Sound! Development is just starting and prices are just now starting to go up. You can get it in before you get priced out! For example, it is 74F right now while Seattle is 82F.
  12. The next few days should be smoke free for Western Washington. The biggest smoke producer in the northwest right now is the Flat Fire in the Rogue River Valley of Oregon. It is the sole fire producing smoke that is covering southern and central Oregon and flowing up towards Eastern Washington. Yes there are other fires, but they are not producing much smoke according to models. Still, but of that smoke will be at higher atmosphere elevations unless you are in Grants Pass who has had three years of terrible smoke now. Smoke conditions should not effect much of Western Oregon and the smoke does dissipate moving into early next week. The massive smoke-fest that is British Columbia is currently blowing smoke east and northeast. So we should be good for the short term. Cooler weather next week will hopefully help firefighters. The wildfire season in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho has been very very tame. Much like last year, it has been very quiet.
  13. Beautiful sunset tonight with the clouds. 64F and a lovely evening. Put in all the outdoor furniture for the incoming rain tomorrow which is greatly needed. Looking forward to it. It has been a long dry spell.
  14. It is the Mountain Loop fire possibly. It was spotted today for the first time at 4:25pm. It has burned 7 acres so far. It is between Robe and Granite Falls. It is located right off the highway, so likely human-caused. Will hopefully be put out soon, but no word on crews headed there yet.

  16. Looking to the north Cascades right now and I don't see any smoke. I will look into this and hopefully get an answer for ya.
  17. The weather has been favourable to all the plants this year... at least in my garden. Tomatoes and other veggies/fruits/berries are doing really well. Looking forward to harvesting the cherry tomatoes. Also growing peppers this year. On the flower side of things, it's an all out beauty fest out there this year.
  18. Currently 72F. We topped out at 73F today in Everett. Beautiful day, blue sky, white clouds.
  19. Beautiful all around Western Washington today with some varied weather here and there. Lets look at a few. WESTPORT. 60F. Overcast. EVERETT. 72F. BELLINGHAM. 74F. SEATTLE. 81F. ARLINGTON. 79F. TACOMA. 80F. LYNNWOOD. 80F.
  20. Amazing the weather difference from the coast to the Puget Sound. It looks like a misty marine layer has Westport BOGGED DOWN right now. Westport is currently 56F.
  21. Sunny all day, but a storm rolled in with some strong winds, but no actual rain. Sunshine is coming out again just in time for sunset. 69F. Topped 76F today.
  22. Beautiful outside but as predicted yesterday, we didn't hit the predicted high. It topped out at 76F here again and the temp is now down to 72F. A cool marine breeze is now blowing in from Possession Sound. Very pleasant day.
  23. Did someone say Soldotna? Last time I was in Soldotna - Kenai, the weather was absolutely beautiful. Crisp, sunny, but cool. As a matter of fact, here are a few pictures of it!
