That's my son's bday but even if he has kids they probably won't live that long. Also I checked. That eclipse is a hybrid eclipse. In the Western Pacific there are parts that are total but in North America it is just an annular eclipse and Bellingham is the center. Seattle isn't in the annulairity (?). There are at least three annular eclipses in Oregon, including at least one very close to Portland. 2045 in Norcal or 2044 in Alberta will be our best bets.

My parents are in Ennis, just south of Dallas and were at my sister's SIL's ranch. The clouds were heavy in the morning but cleared in the last hour and got a spectacular view. All the animals went inside and they sent me a photo. I told them to drive safe with a big storm coming.

Had a loud crack of thunder and several flashes of lightning. Son slept though that loud blast with the windows open.
