  1. We still had about 3 inches of thawed and refrozen old snow leftover from the past few events (we're pretty shaded here so it takes awhile to thaw fully), now just over an inch of fresh stuff and I can see it's finally starting to dust the trees.
  2. Still snowing here, outside of Port Orchard up 500 ft. Bounces between moderate and heavy and then back again. One weather app has finally caved and given us snow until midnight, then rain through the morning. Pretty sure I'll be staying up to see if we get a changeover then; too invested now.
  3. Tonight has been a really pleasant surprise. I know it's all likely to turn to rain by morning, but we've got about an inch of new snow and it's still lightly falling. Lovely! To console myself before everything warms up, I'm looking back over my pictures from the Boxing Day event. I've lived in the PNW my whole life and never experienced snow like that (crisp dry powder) in the lowlands that I can recall. It was like Narnia! Gorgeous.
  4. Well, I spoke too soon! Just took the dog outside and the snow is back, heavier than ever and fluffy! Very interested to see how this goes.
  5. A pause in the snow for now, it seems. Or at least it's very light. Not a full inch of accumulation, but definitely refreshed all the bare patches, dog footprints, and slush. I'll take it!
  6. Yesterday my husband went to check the weather on his phone, went quiet, looked at me and said, "What does that forum you follow say?" #progress
  7. Haven't actually measured, but we're officially past a "dusting" here on the surfaces that had all melted. Starting to accumulate on the branches out front now. My weather app is still giving us rain through tomorrow morning. I'm not so sure.
  8. Still steadily snowing here, just started accumulating!
  9. Snowing here! Just came up from Port Orchard where it's raining, but here at home it's moderate snow. Started 20-30 minutes ago.
  10. Same! Went from heavy rain to heavy snow with huge flakes in a matter of minutes. Barely starting to accumulate on surfaces.
  11. Not sure how helpful this is, but I'm a lurker from South Kitsap (outside of Gorst, about 500') and it was so strange to see fellow Kitsap county folks on the forum reporting buckets of snow last night! We got nothing but heavy rain and some thunder, while areas around us got accumulations. A bit sad, really. I know snow doesn't last forever, but I hate watching it melt, especially in the rain. I trust these forums ahead of any other forecasts. Thanks for all you do!
