  1. I recently purchased an Ambient Weather WS-1202C weather station to replace my WS-1200 Weatherbridge station. I thought that the Meteobridge hub would not work with it, but when I set up the 1202C temporarily inside the house for testing, I noticed my wall panel for the old station connected to the sensor array and displayed the data from it. I then wondered if it was connecting to the Meteobridge hub that I used to send data to NWS for the citizen observer program, and it indeed did work with the new sensor array, also. Since the 1202C is not equipped to send data to NWS without the Meteobridge, I was happy that I could continue participating in the program. I have to say, though, that I was quite disappointed that my 1200 model only lasted a little over 5 years. I hope they've improved their sensor arrays. However, at least I won't need to spend $600 on a complete station again, since the much cheaper 1202C model does the same as the 1200 model did and connects to the hub. (The hub was part of the high cost of the 1200-Weatherbridge model.) The only thing I miss now about the old station is that it recharged batteries using the solar panel, and the new model only uses alkaline batteries. I plan to install a battery eliminator that takes the place of the two AA batteries and uses a very thin ribbon cable to get the replacement power from the adapter past the battery compartment rubber seal and into the compartment.
