  1. Looks like we could see our warmest low of the summer in Portland. KPTV is forecasting 70
  2. We could potentially tie the record for 100+ days tomorrow if we manage 100.
  3. Hillsboro's average low is about equal to Eugene's for the month, and highs have been similar throughout the month so far.
  4. The NWS is mentioning a decent chance of convection Wednesday night
  5. Glad to see more chances but with the amount of lightning last time around OR and WA I'm hoping we can avoid any fire starts if it happens next week.
  6. I was slightly bored and browsing through old newspaper articles and a lot of them have some really interesting information. For example this one from Feb 3rd 1950: January 1950.pdf Some interesting reports: - Unofficial temperature of -7 in Beaverton but "was against the side of the house and may not have been as low as the true temperature" - Unofficial temperature of -10 in Aloha - The east side of the tunnel into Portland was blocked - Drifts 4ft to 5ft in Cedar Mill
  7. Unrelated but in the 2015-16 to 2021-22 stretch I've had around 40" of snow. PDX around 44". I thought the difference would've been slightly larger because of the more Puget Sound focused events recently, but we've been doing decent too
  8. It's really lucky for me that the only two winters that the COOP station very near me were 1967-68 (11.6") and 1968-69 (39"), looks like the December 1968 storm brought sustained winds over 30mph for over 3 hours and drifts up to 2 ft according to the remarks. SeaTac seems to have done much better with 67.5" but Seattle City had around 36.2" in the winter of 1968-69 because of the elevation difference so I'm not sure how good that winter was in general around the Sound maybe away from the water. I think SW OR saw some pretty crazy snowfall totals though.
  9. Also, the winter of 1970-71 brought 71.9" of snow to the Portland Elk-Point station at around 950ft elevation! Hillsboro recorded 14", Portland recorded 10" and Salem recorded 21.5" of snow. The stretch from 1967-1973 was a great stretch for snow (excepting 1969-70) it seems!
  10. I've never seen hail larger than pea size I'm pretty sure, 1.5" would've been interesting to experience
  11. That must've been a crazy storm to experience. 50 million dollars in damages, wow.
