Frosty here. Going on hour 8 of my second power outage. Last night 7-10, then again at 4am. Hoping not like previous storms where it was out a week. Generator all nice and warm, and unused, buried in an outbuilding.

33.3 and loads of big fat flakes. Firs, cedars drooping from the heavy wet snow. 300', 15 miles NW of Portland off Hwy 30.

And finally...

Just more anxiety when your home is surrounded by 40-60'+ trees on saturated soil. Ugh.

Thanks. Happy to be here. Lived in Vancouver, BC, Seattle and now many years just outside PDX. My latest batch of name brand Hot Hands are not a match for the wind. Just checked and the feeder is 75% ice. Put the feeder with a new HH out at 7am. Made it to about 12:45. My other feeder is over a bird bath heater in a covered aluminum pie tin about .25- .5 inch below the actual feeder. Struggling with the wind too.

Hot Hands (hand warmer) inside a fabric pouch sealed with velcro stuck to the bottom of the feeder with double sided tape works great. Got mine from a place in Olympia years ago.
