  1. It was even like this at lower spots 300ft. I suspect the many hours of heavy precip made this possible. When I got home there was hardly any trace of snow with most of the moisture skirting just west and north
  2. This morning on the way home few miles west of spirit mountain casino
  3. My family and I just made it to Lincoln city for the evening. The drive over was fine but it’s been pounding wet huge sloppy flakes the whole time. This weather is so raw. You get soaked so fast and without proper gear or shelter you’re in trouble real fast. The snow accumulation just up in the hills is amazing. Too bad we couldn’t have this set up back in December Or January.
  4. Some of the heaviest rain I’ve seen in years just hit me. Felt tropical yet nice and chilly too
  5. Foggy, drippy, and sloppy icy slushy days barely above freezing like this really make me wish it was like this all year long. Just incredible
  6. I have about 1/2” of icing on the trees. Now that the sub tropical temperatures have moved in let’s see how this melting goes today.
  7. That first batch of moisture moved through so fast it didn’t have time to severely glaze trees. If it was a slow crawl we would be in bad shape.
  8. The heavy rain has stopped, the sleet has stopped but now it’s just a very light drizzle that doesn’t even show up on radar. I think this can be worse tho as it slowly glazes the trees and coats them faster than big rain drops.
  9. Freezing rain has switched to very fine sleet now and accumulating. Very strange. I see DP matches the temp 26f
  10. The intensity of this freezing rain is disturbing. It would easily turn into a catastrophic event if we don’t warm up early Wednesday AM or precipitation doesn’t stop.
  11. I can now confirm ZR storm has started. Coming down at a pretty good clip.
  12. Awesome looking sky to the southwest. love the contrast of dark clouds with snow on ground
  13. I’m only at 500’ and got a few inches of slush. But anyone 800’ and up got double Atleast during that time
  14. Low 16F and DP 10 nice and dry. Let’s see how increasing cloud cover goes for temps today and how long the central WV holds onto the gorge influence
  15. 29F for my high at the house today under mostly full sunshine. Let’s see how cold it gets tonight and I’m still getting decent north wind. Feels like ice storm doom is coming but we will see how this plays out.
  16. That’s incredible and hard to believe it would take that long or be that hard to have low temps on back to back days below 25f in January. Really amazing.
  17. Love looking on the weather app showing that cold air funneling into the WV via gorge so cool.
  18. Absolutely beautiful cold crisp winter day! Have to cherish these rarer moments. Hopefully next time it’s the full blown snow storm and not sleet.
  19. I still have my concerns for a worse than expected ZR storm on Tuesday for willamette valley. Hopefully it’s just a light glaze.
