Nebraska to finally see monster Snowstorm in Late February?
LincWeath replied to clintbeed1993's topic in East of the Rockies
Ive heard from family in Kearney and they said its snowing like crazy. Ground is already covered but radar isnt showing anything out there -
Can someone post the gfs? Not able to load it on my phone.
-
And everything on GFS continues to push north. NAM showing nothing for us. By Friday Lincoln will be in the 1-2 inch range again. Go figure
-
What's the likely hood of this thing keeps getting pushed north. Looks like a major shift compared to yeaterday. With this being 5-6 days out I'm hoping it doesn't keep getting pushed that far north.

Ya I hear ya. I was thinking the same thing. I hope we can get something out of this one. Either way I'm ready for spring after next weekend, beginning of March and I'm usually ready for spring. Especially after the nice weather last week. -

I haven't been able to keep tabs on the storm for next weekend. Is it already making minor shifts? If so it wouldn't suprise me, just enough shifts to put it in Kansas before Sat night and Sunday. No suprises -

Central Nebraska I agree. I have heard stories from my parents about those storms. And although I dont remember them as a kid, I am starting to believe we wont ever see snows like that again. I am in the plowing business and would love to see a few more storm, but once mid March hits, Im ready for outdoor work. Been in the plowing business for 10 years and this has got to be one of our worst years. I dont get to worked up about it but it is frustrating. I guess we will see how we are looking about 5 days from now. I think we should have a decent handle on what is to come for next weekend -
February 3rd-4th Plains Winter Storm
LincWeath replied to clintbeed1993's topic in East of the Rockies
I agree Gabel. This year has been bad for you guys. Really for this entire area but yes Lincoln has probably gotten the best snows out of everywhere in the state minus Nebraska city and Auburn. Those guys are right at average, same with Valentine. Hope you guys can get at least a few inches out of this. Guess time will tell and hope we can put blades on the ground tomorrow night. -

Feb 1st Southern Lakes/Ohio Valley Winter Storm
LincWeath replied to DominicR's topic in East of the Rockies
I would say the whole storm was a big bust. Not even an inch of snow in Lincoln and sounds like you guys online got 2-4 inches up there. I would love totals like that down here. We havent had a storm over 1.5" since December 5th -
Well what do you know. Snow on top of us but dry air. Should have been snowing since 3 this morning but cant overcome the dry air.
-
Haha i hear ya man, sucks
-
Not once did i say we shouldn't be frustrated. I live in Lincoln, Im right there with ya with the frustrations, but what do you wanna do? Head south and push the storm this way? BTW i would if i could
-
After all it is weather. We all go in phases and thats that. Some years are better than others. The plains dont see near the snow that they do around the lakes, and thats what we get for choosing to live here. No reason are argue over it. It is just easy for us to vent our frustrations on here when winter has been horrible. After all next year may be our year. Hard to say

Didnt get your first snow until Jan 25th and still broke 30 inches last year? Interesting
