I absolutely do not envy the forecasters in Minneapolis...

Well, if we (just north of MSP core) are not going to get crushed, might as well take the precip and proceed to spring. Not like we had any winter anyway... Nonetheless, looks like this is going to be a mess.

Got quite the surprise hammering from this storm on the north side of the TC. Awesome!

Got a glorious april fools joke from mother nature. Somewhere around 8-10 inches of snow, and it is not exactly light.

Assuming we get a few more inches overnight, the drifts by morning should be pretty cool. Already seeing some significant ones around here! Unfortunate that the storm was modeled so poorly right up to the event, but weather is hard. NWS in Minneapolis getting absolutely roasted doesn't seem real fair...

Very disappointing so far just north of Minnespolis. Hoping the heavy band lifts up this way...

Looking like this should be a fun ride. Still plenty of time left, but pretty incredible model consistency. Just a few miles north of the outer loop of Minmeapolis here and looking good. Trends seem to be favoring just south of here for the maximums at this point, but man this looks like it will be a fun one. Curious to see what the watches say when they are released. Let it snow!

It is indeed! Can hardly see across the parking lot here just a few miles north of Minneapolis. Big flakes too.

Snow is absolutely pounding here with big flakes and a band sitting overhead. Been snowing steadily since 8AM. Looking like we will see some pretty impressive totals for the wind to whip around!

Raining steadily here. Looking outside at my driveway you can see it is starting to flash freeze / freezing rain. Going to be some scary roads.

First wave is a bust north here. The second wave being a bust to the south would be par for the course.

HRRR says "lol what Twin Cities storm?" Holds it wayyyyyy north. Lets hope it is wrong.

Unless the trend reverses, this looks like central MN gets the bullseye on this storm, but still looking pretty good here. Finally something that isnt 5 degrees and windy. Edit: NWS saying 1-2" for the first wave.

Looking like I am going to get a good thumping tonight. Point went from 3 to 5 and is now 3 to 7. Curious to see how it pans out.

Very happy to be on the oitside looking in today. Looks like the greatest storm threat is Minneapolis and south as of now. Will see some very heavy winds here, however. Forecast disco is quite ominous out of MSP. Good luck everyone that is in the way of this thing later.

Looks like I will get glanced by this as it skirts off to the south. Latest models give me around 3 inches, but basically any northern shift will drastically change that.

Looks like the NWS has issued a winter storm watch for the counties south of me and extending down to the border. Discussion mentioned they are thinking a possible 8-10" somewhere in that area.

Hoping for a trend in this direction! Got barely clipped by the last storm as it skirted north of here. This one is threatening to skirt to the south of here.

Currently just exited the first round of storms. Looking like it is going to be a nice and wet stretch here (finally). Currently getting some unexpected sun as well as intense wildfire smoke. Models seem to disagree on timing a bit, but we look to score some nice storms with a warm front in place and an LLJ that starts screaming heading into the night. Maybe after this stretch I won't be able to walk across the Mississippi and Rum rivers... Hoping this also signals the end of being baked to a crisp!

Pretty incredible how much drought the state is in. In the same boat having only mowed twice here in Anoka county. My garden of watermelons is not exactly enjoying it either.
