  1. Totally agree. Almost makes me want to move somewhere locally that gets more snow but I won't. Need to finish out my career with 8 years to go. We just haven't done well here this winter and it always seems like people north of Seattle do so much better, with a few exceptions.
  2. You are far enough west to actually see something I guess. I am currently up the hill on 19th near Parks HQ and nothing happening...though I did see a couple of flakes
  3. Nothing here in Tacoma even though the radar has been showing snow and the phone app says it's snowing, haha. Dry air and offshore flow doing it's thing I guess.
  4. I got up twice in the night. Saw it snowing hard at 11:30 or so and was excited. But at 3:30 it had stopped and looked to be melting I'm guessing we had about an inch before the melting started with the south wind. This is all that's left.
  5. We will be also! Charleston and Savannah. Never been before. Charleston sounds like a really fun place to visit.
  6. I'm guessing 3-5" for Tacoma/Fircrest/UP area. But that might be optimistic.
  7. Yeah, it seems like we don't do as well as other areas quite often. I live one block east of the UP/Fircrest border just south of the golf course.
  8. Yeah, I just needed to be a little more patient. It's coming down nicely now and sticking to the car tops. Also heard that the Tacoma School District where my wife works has already announced 2 hour late start for tomorrow.
  9. I'm not too confident that the Tacoma area will get much snow tonight. The radar looks good but we are just not getting it down to the surface. Maybe it will moisten up later and actually amount to something, we'll see. I know the NWS did issue an advisory but maybe that jinxed us, who knows....
  10. Very light flurries here in Fircrest also. Since I work in park maintenance I mentioned the EURO and the NAM showing potential snow on the ground tomorrow, so the crew put the snowplow back on one of our small dump trucks. Hope I don't look foolish tomorrow Of course it doesn't take much snow to cause problems on the roads, so we will see. And the plow will be ready for the weekend major snowstorm that Cliff Mass says is coming, haha.
  11. We've only had some light drizzle this morning but dry after that. Strong shadowing from the Olympics here. I was hoping for more rain so I wouldn't have to do much yard work, haha. But we are transplanting things and moving them around in the yard so it was good to get some of that done.
  12. Can't leave cats out of this. Mine doesn't trust any of the models and is ready for spring!
  13. Was Ivan the Gorilla part of those issues? Or was it the chicken that played tic-tac-toe?
  14. Yeah, I've noticed that. Was just wondering if it had anything to do with the music preference discussion that was going on a couple of days ago....
  15. Richard Mann could probably explain it. He was always talking about the movement of cold air.
  16. Didn't really get anymore snow than what I had with the picture I posted last night. Still fun though. 31 and frozen now.
  17. Just checked and it's changed to pure heavy wet snow here and 36. Starting to stick. 20 minutes ago it was a rain/snow mix. Shows the power of the convergence zone or deformation band, whatever it is.
  18. And power just came back on. That wasn't bad. Just enough time to experience the novelty of it without any of the problems. It was an hour and 20 minutes.
