  1. 74F here today with dews peaking at 64F under sunny skies. Almost record warm. I can't complain though...some of the most pleasant weather all summer since the rain finally stopped.
  2. Yeah can't wait for this winter. Looking forward to 10F, heavy snow, and wind.
  3. Thankfully it doesn't look as strong as Fiona (2022) or Dorian (2019) which I both experienced here. Looks like a good storm for minimal damage, although the power might still go out here.
  4. Oh yeah I remember that St John's storm. Absolutely nuts. All forecasts I've seen for New England/Atlantic Canada is snowier than normal and average temps.
  5. Hmm I haven't been here long so I didn't experience that. Sounds like a Nor'easter.
  6. Yeah snow removal is very robust here. Fiona (2022 September) didn't bring snow here though. Was there another Fiona that did?
  7. Not right in the town, but fairly close. Weather is interesting for sure. It's usually windy any time of year, lots of snow in general, usually pleasant temps in summer but June 1st was very hot in the region this year. It reached 30-33C on the island on that day. A day or two later, and it was 6C at 2pm with rain all day. Fiona was unpleasant last year. Life in general...it's very quiet and relaxed. Maybe too quiet.
  8. any thoughts on Invest 95L (Lee)? It looks to have potential to be quite strong.
  9. Hopefully it will finally get cold and snowy here. We've had a decent amount of snow but it keeps getting washed away by rain.
  10. On a cold, windy af island in the Canadian Maritimes. Had some accumulating snow since my last post but it melted. Been pretty cold recently but not much available precip for some reason. We're getting there!
  11. I was lucky enough to be in Eugene for that winter (after a previous major dud of a winter in 2012-13). Besides December 2008, it is my best winter memory in Oregon.
  12. Here's my forecast the next few days. Warm and sunny every day except Sunday. Friday - 62/52 Saturday - 64/57 Sunday - 66/56 Monday - 64/41
  13. The dew point peaked at 65.5F today, here.
  14. Uh huh. Not far from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tignish,_Prince_Edward_Island#Climate
  15. I was in Missoula in August once (2014) and it was hot as hell. Past few summers have been very hot in the region. Cranbrook, BC had an average high of 91.4F last July 2021. Missoula averaged 94.1F that month, for a high. This year, 91.9F in Missoula. Too hot there! That's one of the reasons I live way out on this remote island.
  16. Below zero (F) is the best kind of cold though! If I lived in the US again, it would probably be somewhere in western MT (except not Missoula/Butte).
  17. Yikes. Glad I moved to the far east of the Americas. f***** hated the smoke out west, but I do miss all the mountains.
  18. I would've gone but I'm too far. Would've loved to meet the Jesse and deweydog couple though.
  19. 67F with a 66F dew here. Been raining nonstop since 12am this morning and just stopped. Nice fetch of moisture from Cuba.
