  1. Nice! (But dangerous) A nice thunderstorm coming through Denver right now. Hopefully more continue as the evening progresses. I'm guessing they will...
  2. The thunder from the second wave was insanely loud. Most areas should be above 5" of rain for June, if not 6".
  3. It's only been 5 days since the last rain here but it seems like forever. Anyway, it's 75F with a 64F dew point and moderate rain/hail with some quiet thunder. I'm surprised there hasn't been much thunder with this storm.
  4. I'll be moving to Vancouver, BC at the end of July/beginning of August, which is too bad because I love the climate here. Granted, it's been a little unusual but still. If it doesn't work out there I will probably come back here.
  5. It's just been hot and rainless here so not much else to say at the moment. Dew points during daytime have ranged from ~40F to 61F the past few days so getting a mix of moderately humid (for here) conditions and moderately dry conditions. I can't wait till more severe storms come but I have a feeling we won't see a repeat of May-June again, i.e., we won't be having almost daily thunderstorms. I'd love to be wrong though.
  6. Hey Flatiron, are the bugs unusually bad/numerous this year? It's not just mosquitoes either that are a problem.
  7. Looking good here right now. It's 82F with a DP at 61F with building thunderstorms with severe potential. Why am I inside still? Time to go outside and enjoy the relatively high humidity.
  8. I'm seeing lightning along the Front Range so we could still see a little action tonight.
  9. Yeah, it's a weather forum... Today might have some action though Monday looks to be more active. I'm still enjoying seeing rain almost everyday in the afternoon/evening. People here are really complaining though.
  10. 1-1.5" already in my area. Looks like it'll be at least 2" before this event is finished.
  11. Thunderstorm and heavy rain now. Radar looks healthy.
  12. Yeah it was pretty warm today. Around 92F in most places and cloudy skies as the day went on. Thunderstorms in the area now and about 80F.
  13. I live at the top of a hill in a highish building (at the top) and the lightning has been crazy from here. One struck a light pole about 30 feet from my window and then it went dark.
  14. No I had my window open since it's been pretty warm and the rain just happened to be blowing into my window. Anyway, here is a video of hailstorm cleanup this morning: http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_28258514/one-denver-block-buried-under-up-four-feet Yikes!
  15. Around 215pm where I work had a good classic thunderstorm for about 30 minutes with the heaviest rain I've seen here so far. No hail though, thankfully. The thunder was very clear sounding. Last night was very stormy though. I went to bed during the storm around 1030pm and then woke up at 2am to rain pelting my face. Looks like tonight might be similar judging by the sky...
  16. It just started raining and will get pretty heavy by the looks of the radar. Someone just shot off some fireworks too...lol! Lots of thunder and lightning with this one although I haven't seen any cloud to ground yet (facing south).
  17. Storms finally developing over Denver. I can see a lot of lightning so far but no thunder yet.
  18. I was up on Green Mountain just before the cell currently going through Denver/Aurora struck. Maybe not the smartest but it was awesome. Really loud thunder! I had about 2 minutes before the torrential rain and hail began after I got to my car. I saw hail about silver dollar size and there were piles of hail on the side of 470. I'm loving the humidity too.
  19. For tomorrow in the Denver area, cape along the urban corridor/foothills progged at 2000-3000 J/kg, which is much higher than the recent bout of thunderstorms (usually less than 1000 J/kg). Looks juicy!
  20. Extremely odd since June is one of the driest months in Arizona.
  21. Some trees still have very small buds and no leaves. Then there are the trees with leaves that already have some color to them.
  22. 78.5F now. I'm planning on heading out to the Table Mountain park(s) later this evening after I eat. I was up on Green Mountain yesterday evening and it was so cold, wet, and windy. My hands were having a hard time moving. That cold front was pretty noticeable. Also today will probably be the first completely dry day in the area for a LONG time. It's so novel to not have rain.
  23. I saw SLC and the 15 corridor had a nice line of thunderstorms a few hours ago. Tonight's storm has been pretty decent in the lightning/thunder department with some heavy rain but not too wet this time. The back-end of this storm has had a ton of lightning which is different from the others this month. Kinda strange to see a lot of lightning and few clouds.
  24. Utah definitely needed it. It was a pretty dry winter from what I heard. My location has over 5" for the month now. Afternoon/early evening thunderstorms are the norm and so far for May, 19 out 26 days have had thunderstorms. There were a few plain rain days as well. I can count on one hand the number of dry days... It's been wet!
  25. Nice thunderstorm rolling through right now. S**tload of lightning and thunder with this one and a lot of hail. Roofs are white.
