  1. Just had a tree limb come down and take out our backyard light strings, lots of ice falling from the trees too. Showing 32.2 degrees.
  2. Some tree limbs and branches snapping in the woods across the street from me and the power went out for about 5 minutes. Quite a bit of ice on the power lines and trees with ice falling from the trees during wind gusts. Currently 31.5 degrees, temp has been bouncing between 31.1 and 31.9 since 6:00 a.m.
  3. -16.3 on my home station this morning, warmed up to -12 already!
  4. Disappointing totals so far and it doesn't appear that there will be much more. On the plus side, it looks like plowing should be easy tonight.
  5. We need some rain. The ground is like concrete and the grass is turning to straw.
  6. Wow, the GFS really nailed this over two weeks out!
  7. Bring on the 45 degree dew points! I have a landscaping business and it was a real struggle getting through this past week. Current heat (misery) index is 104 as I glance at my weather station. Dew point at 78!
  8. Who would have imagined this?! This report was created in late 2018. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/330184909_Are_We_Approaching_a_New_Influenza_Pandemic
  9. I've got 3.5" in Crystal Lake, just back from plowing. The snow was very light, easy to plow and shovel.
