  1. Don't be the "attacker"... that is the worst.
  2. More irony. You are only one beating the preference drum every day. You are the full package! Not sure if you are joking or just not self-aware.
  3. Are you joking? You literally only focus on me. Do you realize how ironic this post is? One person is the constant antagonizer and its not me. Just the reality. I enjoy the drama but I know many people don't.
  4. Well then lets start keeping track. We have one person serving as the constant antagonizer and its definitely not me. Today it was all about economics. Its always something. Forced moral outrage. Please let me know when I start something out of nothing. I could quote 10 times when a certain someone has done that in just the last week. Maybe more. And I am not talking about posting weather maps or charts that someone likes... because that is what we are here for.
  5. Been fun watching the Space Needle cam this afternoon.
  6. We had one quiet summer when a certain someone was banned... before he snuck back in. And he says he is so well behaved now. Same old same old.
  7. Nice. I was going to mention earlier that the ECMWF has been showing quick clearing of the main frontal band by noon for many runs. It never looked like an all-day soaker along the coast.
  8. I would track rain events there like I do ridges here. I would skip work sometimes to enjoy a big rain event there. Now I might take off work to enjoy a perfect sunny summer day. I always find something to track.
  9. I don't really care what you think or would have done. I was not asking for your permission to love the San Diego area for a variety of reasons. We were very happy there. There are many factors in life beyond just the weather.
  10. You have a roof over your head and a car and have easy access to food and health care and can drive on roads to get to your job and go hiking and out to dinner and can call the police if you are in danger and travel all the way to Texas to look at the sun for 4 minutes. Why don't you move to Ethiopia and challenge yourself? But you spend most of your time whiny about any nice weather shown in the models. Talk about being as soft as a baby's butt.
  11. I haven't told you yet? Literally just did. We were told to move to there for 4 years by the US military. Pretty simple. Then bought a house and fell in the love with the area. And we had good jobs and we were settled. Our kids reaching school age prompted us to look elsewhere.
  12. Dude... I swear you half read everything. Read it again. She was stationed there. Do you think the Navy gives you a choice? But we ended up falling in love with it there and stayed for 12 years. Only when our twin boys were toddlers did we yearn to go back to where there are forests and greenery. Almost moved back to MN but we really didn't want to deal with the extreme cold there. And then my wife got an amazing opportunity in Seattle. Our sons still thank us for allowing them to grow up here.
  13. That much is obvious. He obsesses over it all the time... transplants and other BS. And guilty conscious? Hardly. My wife and I left MN with $2,000 in the bank and an old Pontiac. She put herself through college by signing up to be a nurse in the Navy which is why went to San Diego after college. I paid for my own college by working every weekend. 2 years after leaving MN we bought our first house in San Diego. I was obsessed with the weather when I was 3 years old. Walking around the backyard in the snow and narrating my own forecasts. By 5... I could free-hand draw the map of the US which I would use in my forecasts I presented to my parents. I was born being fascinated with the weather.
  14. Lots of sun over the next 10 days per 00Z ECMWF... and generally dry. Very pleasant spring weather.
  15. Could be ULL pattern as well... with coldest anomalies over SW.
  16. LOL It gets better immediately after day 10 and that pattern shown on your map could be a ULL sliding through CA in reality which is usually not too bad up here.
  17. Just in the last couple days the cottonwoods behind our house have started leafing out. Lots of trees leafing out in North Bend now. I feel sorry for Andrew whose endlessly nourished trees have to wait another 3 months to show signs of life.
  18. Been watching a flash freeze situation in the Twin Cities this morning... as temps have crashed back into the low to mid 20s with heavy snow in the wrap around behind the big storm. Temps have fallen into the teens in western MN and the single digits in the Dakotas which is pretty impressive for the middle of the day when its almost April. Some places might go below zero tonight.
  19. Palm trees in the PNW don't care about frost. Most are hardy to slightly below 0F. That separates the west side of the Cascades from places to the east like Montana.
  20. Maybe. Throughout the entire history of life on Earth the one constant is that vegetation is always changing. And sometimes quickly.
  21. So much hatred for a simple form of vegetation that can obviously do well in our borderline Mediterranean climate. I think the people who have so much venomous hatred just don't like to be reminded of the reality of our climate. They want to pretend we are basically Montana.
