  1. My dad sent me this from Oregon City off of Beavercreek. Nice to see OC getting a little action. Been a tough stretch for that area lately, even tougher than—dare I say— SPRINGFIELD/EUGENE (apparently Dante’s forgotten circle). 36 currently and no real sign of snow this morning at my location in Gladstone. Nevertheless, a great late winter event and so happy for the replenished snow pack.
  2. That sucks, but I’m still jealous of that 24 hour snowfall you had in 2019. I haven’t had anything close to that in the last decade. Amazing, life-affirming weather event.
  3. Nice to see another from my area. It’s a finicky weather location at times. Welcome in. 29 and ZR at the moment in Gladstone.
  4. Heaviest sleet shower of the day. 16.9 in Gladstone. Fun day. A two inch layer of snow on top of this would be a treat but probably not in the cards. This is one helluva an event.
  5. Down to 37.6 in Gladstone under some heavy (rain only) showers. Probably won’t get there for this event but it feels great to walk outside and feel winter again with the potential for a new weather memory on the horizon.
  6. Probably the greatest weather day of my life. 10-12 hours of continuous snow (brief ice intermission) with very little (if any) nervous busting-energy and the cold comfort of knowing it would be there to enjoy for several days to come.
  7. I was just going to respond the same, but I was hesitant thinking maybe that was just a S. metro thing. I think we even switched over and back for a few hours during the big Saturday event on (I believe) the 20th.
  8. Quick somebody start posting replays of Wolverine highlights and still images of Husky mistakes and unfavorable comeback data and scenarios. But throw in a random Pellex highlight from midseason and insincerely suggest that “there’s still lots of game left.”
  9. You often refer to faulty teleconnections as the primary culprit in fall-apart modeled patterns. I’ve got a (at best) rudimentary understanding of what you’re referring to but I’d like to know more. If you have a second, how would you explain that somewhat simplistically (beyond just upstream dynamics)? Thanks. And what are you seeing in that regard currently?
  10. Always surprised what a defeatist you are considering that epic 24-hour snowfall you had less than five years ago. I would have killed for that here in S.Metro where ice and warm-nosing have reigned supreme.
  11. On the bright side we got through this run without Andrew’s shticky play by play.
  12. Which of these “seasons” produced 24 hours of uninterrupted snowfall less than five years ago, Mr. Doom and Gloom?
  13. Looks like a good shower the past 25-30 minutes. This is only 600ft. What is your elevation?
  14. S. Metro curse continues! I’ve got barely .5 inch in Gladstone/OC. Perspective is everything. Your three inches seems “massive” to me. Maybe I should rephrase that.
  15. Yes, love the detached perspective. A good poem by Stephen Crane: A man said to the universe: “Sir, I exist!” “However,” replied the universe, “The fact has not created in me A sense of obligation.”
  16. yeah no kidding d-dog this map is wack and this is a really cool way of pointing out just how wack it is and then add an exclamation point and I see you got bored with Crescent City and Cannon beach and yeah we are all kind of ignoramus in comparison to you but it’s cool that you’ll still post in our presence please keep telling us how it is and thank you
  17. Very true. But posting about their goofiness probably has a similar redundancy, don’t you think?
  18. Seems like 75% of the content here lately is GFS snow maps followed by 10 smartest-guy-in-the-room posts decrying the credibility of GFS snow maps. Take away the former and the latter won’t have much of a voice.
  19. Despite living in snow-impotent Gladstone, I’ll admit I’m finding it difficult to not get a little excited with each successive run. I think I am in need of an ambiguously phrased and sarcasm-soaked teleconnections reference to temper said enthusiasm.
  20. Good god. It’s got to the point where PDX can’t even get laid on a 10 day Pepto map. Can I at least indulge in foolish, pink fantasy once in awhile?
  21. Your snow greed is shameless and insatiable. We should add a snow blower to the reactions menu to symbolize greedy posts.
