Slightly higher elevation in that area helps a little. Also the overall geography with mountains closer to the south and east with the end of the Willamette valley probably helps the front stall out even more down there. The cold air above catches up faster to the stalled precipitation down there to the south.

Hell yeah. This is the kind of setup that the Eugene area almost always outperforms Portland in.

The cold front just went through Medford! They dropped from 50 to 40 degrees. I’m always rooting for that area!

Yeah, I wasn’t expecting anything since the models didn’t like the idea of valley snow this morning. It seems like the southerly wind still hasn’t completely died as well. Still 40 degrees.
