It has nothing to do with what the media says and everything to do with the comments themselves.
-
It is known (at least the second part).
-
And what do you think the context of that Puerto Rico comment is? Look at all the other things Trump has said about immigrants. I’m not sure why it’s so hard to understand for you that Trump has a background of making denigrating and xenophobic/racist comments. Doesn’t matter what those who “know him personally” say.
-
His team approved the comedian’s comments. Kamala didn’t approve Biden saying that Trump supporters are garbage.
-
I’m not necessarily interpreting it this way; I’m explaining how I think it will play and how it may affect undecided voters. As you say, context matters. What do you think is the context of Trump when it comes to political violence and obeying the rule of law?
-
Yeah, I mean that’s part of why I say that. It would be different if Kamala has called Trump voters garbage, but she didn’t…

Tom Corbett, former Republican governor of PA, said: ““When you see actions like that, you certainly have to question the ability of someone to function in the role of president,” Mr. Corbett said on CNN. He added: “This is a government of laws. The rule of law is how we function. This is clearly not a lawful action.”
-
Gabby Gifford (the former congresswoman who survived an assassination attempt) said the following: ““As a survivor of political violence, I ask my fellow Arizonans and American patriots to reject Trump’s calls for violence and retribution,” she said. “Let’s elect Kamala Harris and put this dark chapter behind us once and for all.”

Imo Trump’s “shooting at her” comment about Cheney plays worse than Biden’s “garbage” comment. In terms of how it will look to people who are somehow still undecided.

“ In 2010, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was experiencing memory loss and mental fogginess so severe that a friend grew concerned he might have a brain tumor. Mr. Kennedy said he consulted several of the country’s top neurologists, many of whom had either treated or spoken to his uncle, Senator Edward M. Kennedy, before his death the previous year of brain cancer. Several doctors noticed a dark spot on the younger Mr. Kennedy’s brain scans and concluded that he had a tumor, he said in a 2012 deposition reviewed by The New York Times. Mr. Kennedy was immediately scheduled for a procedure at Duke University Medical Center by the same surgeon who had operated on his uncle, he said. While packing for the trip, he said, he received a call from a doctor at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital who had a different opinion: Mr. Kennedy, he believed, had a dead parasite in his head. The doctor believed that the abnormality seen on his scans “was caused by a worm that got into my brain and ate a portion of it and then died,” Mr. Kennedy said in the deposition.”

I’m sure the brain worms in RFK Jr.’s head are very excited about the chance to spread conspiracy theories about vaccines and Wi-Fi.

Now I’m remembering how long that snow stuck around even in Seattle…with all the melting and refreezing it kind of turned into a mini glacier for a few days. The roads were solid ice, and super bumpy to drive on from all the divots made by other cars! It didn’t fully melt until like New Years. -

It was awesome how the snow started to stick to the roads right away even though it was right around freezing. I remember walking down one of the hilly east-west streets in north Seattle as it started coming down. -
Yeah I don’t disagree. I would be surprised if it were one of the top two or three issues nationally.
-
It just depends on the person. But I know women for whom reproductive rights are one of (if not the) most important issues.

Yeah I think in north Seattle it snowed a solid 3 or 4 inches too. It was slower to melt than I expected and the next few days were chilly with sun and a good amount of snow on the grass. -

I’ve been lucky enough to see two white Christmases: 2008 in Seattle when there was still maybe four inches of snow on the ground, and 2017 when there was an awesome little Christmas Eve snowstorm in Seattle (one of my favorite underrated events). 2007 might barely count since it snowed a quarter inch that time. 2010 also had a white thanksgiving in Seattle iirc. -

Cool! For some reason late November is one of my favorite times for it to snow (followed by Christmas week). -

Typhoon Kong-Rey just traversed Taiwan after making landfall on their east coast as an enormous 115-mph typhoon. It was so large that its furthest cloud extent was over the northern tip of Borneo and extreme southern South Korea at the same time! That would be like a hurricane producing cloud cover in Toronto and Honduras. -

Is Portland-south usually shut out of November events? I can’t remember if it snowed here at all in 2010, 2006 etc. but seem to remember PDX didn’t get anything. -
I would do the same here if Kamala somehow wins (unlikely).
-
This is the mindset I don’t understand. I very much don’t want him to win but I’m mentally preparing myself for my estimated 70% probability it will happen. Otherwise I would be setting myself up to feel crushing disappointment, rather than a grim “I knew this was coming” moment.

Hard caps on drug prices seems like a good idea.

Dude the American healthcare system is not that good. It’s great that you’ve benefited from American innovation and that is definitely a strong point, but hospitals here are in a dire state. Not to mention our maternal mortality rate is several times higher than other first world countries. I just think it’s easy to idealize when you don’t live here, and especially when you don’t live here as someone who isn’t lucky enough to have good health insurance through their work. Even the innovation comes with caveats, like the process for approving medical implants has been too quick here leading to many patients with serious chronic problems from defective devices.

I forgot how miserable walking through 45 degree heavy rain is! Sheesh.
