  1. I cannot wait for severe weather to start kicking in. Looking forward to loud thunder, along w dark ominous clouds, damaging winds and hail reports. It seems like it has been forever. Fav part is when a storm is approaching and you start seeing lightning and hearing thunder and feeling those winds cranking up.
  2. Cloudy weather here today at the Big Apple w/ temps holding in the upper 40's. Some rain looking likely tomorrow w temps again barely getting outta the 40's. Was looking forward to some mild weather, but not looking likely. Hopefully, by the weekend, some 50s make a comeback along w some sunshine.
  3. Beautiful weather here on the EC. NYC attm w/ lots of sunshine but chilly temps. Lows dipped in the 30s last nite but recovered only in the 40s these last 2 days. Will be in Times Square tanite dinner and possibly a show.
  4. NOW until 12:00am Sat Winter Weather Advisory Today Heavy Snow High: 34 °F Tonight Snow Likely Low: 26 °F Well, isn't this special. A snowstorm for the Macomb area today. They are calling for 3-6inches, maybe more, if strong banding falls in. Part 2 is later this evening, w/ more snow. Temps are in the 20s attm. Honestly, I was hoping we were done w/ this mild winter. I would much rather had this back in February when not a flake fell...geez. Anyways, roads are not too good after listening to the news, numerous accidents out there. Looking out the window now, its snowing quite good and everything is covered, considering high sun angle. Good thing is that by early next week, this will all be a memory LOL...and back to spring.
  5. After experiencing the 70s yesterday, I am definitely ready for spring. March right now is looking to have AN temps and I unless a fluke happens outta nowhere, my seasonal snowfall remains well BN, as expected. I am not surprised because in a nino yr, that is what you get. I am greatful that January snowfall was ironically AN. One thing is for sure, this winter was definitely a very mild one.
  6. An incredible 72F here in SMI (Macomb area). Hard to believe it will snow tomorrow.
  7. It is an incredible 68F right now and I am pretty confident that temps do get to at least 70F here in myby or maybe even higher than that. Just amazingly warm outside. I stepped outside and if feels like May. What a crazy winter weatherwise.
  8. Crazy wild weather day shaping up for late tanite into Wednesday. From thunderstorms to light snow accumulation predicted by Wednesday afternoon. Temps crashing tomorrow morning from the 50s and 60s into the teens w/ snow. Winds will be howling as well. Severe weather has occurred in February a couple of times in S MI. I googled it and ironically, it even spawn out tornadoes as well, so yes, it can happen in February. Cant wait for La Lina to get cranking. Next winter should be much snowier and colder.
  9. Looking forward to severe weather next week here in mby. Currently in a marginal risk. From t'stm potential to snowshowers and very windy conditions w temps dropping into the teens Wednesday night after being forecasted to be in the 60s. That should be a smack in the face for a lot of people. It wont last though because we are right back in the 50s and 60s staring Friday and into the weekend. The following week, my area stands the potential to be well into the 60s. Do I dare say near 70F or higher and this time of the year, models tend to be off on temps, due to higher sun angle. Finally, come early March, I would not be surprise to see trees starting to blossom. That poses a threat because April freezes can damage a lot of flowers and trees. We shall see what happens. From the looks of it, looks like winter may be on its way out, but like they say: "it ain't over until its over."
  10. Beautiful pic amigo. Enjoy the winter wonderland at your new place.
  11. While I was there, I rented a car and my niece and I explored the city. She knows so my about the culture there. Great Lawyer in the family on the way!!!!! I also experienced a quick , rare thunderstorm for this time of the year, followed by a rainbow. Overall, great city to visit. Pic1 & Pic2 are the same: Delicious lunch Pic3; Alcatraz Island. Pic4: Rainbow after a thunderstorm Pic5: Scenery of the Bay area Pic6: Crusin the city Pic7: Inside the hotel Pic8: A crisp, beautiful sunny day, although, at night it gets chilly for SF standards Pic9: View of my hotel Suite(Claremont Club & Spa) Pic10: Up on the steep hill. Some hills are so steep, it looks very scary driving down the road... San Fransisco Pics:
  12. I'll be in San Fransisco later today to go and visit my niece at University of Berkeley (Law School). Looking forward to that. I'll post pics. It will be my first time visiting there, so that should be fun.
  13. This one just missed S MI by a hair. My area just got a dusting. Down by the OH border, there was heavy snow reported yesterday afternoon, cloudy here in mby. Close call amigo. Btw: w/ the Thursday system, my area received 1.9" and man it was coming down hard. !" per hr/rates or more. This was all snow all around. That rain/snow line never did make it up here. Even Detroit, points south stayed all snow. That was a bust from NOAA. Noone on the air even mentioned that later that evening LOL. Of course, they don't want to look bad.
  14. More snow fell in the i-95 corridor last night as WWA was posted for NYC (2-4inches) and WSW's (4-6inches) for the Philly area. Wash DC and Baltimore saw some snows as well. Boston was too far north for this one.
  15. Thats awesome. My fav food is Pastitsio, mousaka, cheese/spinach pie, or just plain cheese, keftedes (round meatballs and etc), I definitely get french fries there (it has that amazing Greek oil taste) and muchhhhh more. Everytime after a good swim, I get very hungry, so there are literally cafes right across the beach, so we just go and grab a big plate of all types of food on it and a cold beer, looking at he Aegean sea. I also enjoy playing backgammon (real player here), sometimes i play in tournaments, anyways, then, back in the water. You get tanned up very fast, so be careful not to get burned. I did once and was a disaster. Tip: There is also an Ikea store in Athens. I will have to make a stop there to buy a refrigerator because mine has gotten too old. The hard part is the delivery men have to carry it up the mountain (climbing a few steps). Man, now thats a workout for them.
  16. Yes sir. If you decide to go, get ready for some amazing food, great water to swim in and if you are single, DANG, you will have a fantastic time . The culture there is just amazing. I love going there. I usually settle down in Andros Island, which by boat ride from Mykonos is a couple of hours, so you can always come and I can show you around.. be prepare to gain a few pounds though, you will be non-stop eating. Nowadays, most Greeks there speak broken English, so communicating there will not be an issue for you. I can teach you to speak Greek, but its a hard language. For i.e., letter "p" for us is letter "r" for the greek language. If you say good morning, in greek you write it kalimepa.
  17. Looking forward to the warm up next week., 40s and maybe near 50F or so. Any snow we get today will be history for a lot of folks.
  18. I will give this winter till maybe mid March and then, ready for spring. Sometimes March can produce bigger snows than what you think. After that, I will be thinking Greece...AHHH....and saying to myself, it it July yet.??!!
  19. Considering it has not really snowed there for an incredible amount of time, I would call this "Major." We are used to getting feet of snow in real Nor'easters, but that has not been the case, lately, unfortunately. Models have been trended even further south (benchmark 40/70), which is an ideal track for NYC and all 5 boroughs for real heavy snow. They are expecting snowfall rates of 1 to 2inches an hour. The highest I have seen was 3 to 4inches per hour rates during the famous blizzard of 96. Yeah, your right. We are definitely not Charlotte, NC.

  21. Its beautiful outside. I even heard bird chirping. Unreal! There is a storm to watch late next week, but that looks to be a rain to snow scenario w/ possible accumulations. It stays cold thereafter, but near average temps or slightly below. Note: As I said back in late Autumn, I'll be a happy camper if my snowfall this winter gets close to average, but w/ this strong nino, it will be tough. Good news is that this nino will be weakening in spring. Nina is up next, or will it be nada. If that is the case, forecasting next winter will be very tough. Rather have a nina for sure.
  22. There was a slight chance for a snowstorm in S MI early next week, but the phase does not happen. Still needs to be watched.
  23. This mild, if not warm air feels amazing. Ya really dont wanna be inside at all. Temps in the 60's yesterday and more of the same today. Back to near seasonable temps next week, but no big storms as for right now.
  24. No sunshine yet. Still cloudy and quite averaged w temps in the low 30s. Averaged high this time of the year is 33F. Quick question to anyone that knows this answer to my question: So, typically, if Ground Hog sees its shadow, its 6 more weeks of winter, but how many weeks of winter is left if it does not see its shadow. I.e., if that is the case, what date could be considered an early spring.
