  1. No big Deal...just your normal April Blizzard for parts of far western parts of NE...
  2. I thought we would come very close and we sure did. The temp at PHX rallied late, close but no cigar...hit 89F late in the afternoon (4:57pm).... No need to hurry, as we are very likely to see 90F by this time next week...an early taste of some Summer Sizzle...
  3. I believe he was near Carbondale, IL, right next to SIUC…Saluki’s!
  4. Do we get to 90F at PHX today? It's going to get rather breezy and full sun might do the trick.
  5. I'm ok with the early season HEAT out here...might decide to plan some nice trips weather permitting...
  6. Primarily a 4-8" storm...except for the U.P....
  7. This is freakin' dope! "They Eye of the Cyclone" literally passed over MKE...this will go down as a memorable storm for many on here and the U.S.
  8. Just your typical 986mb retrograding mid lat cyclone over MKE...
  9. Happy Humpday! Gotta love Spring in the GL's...out here in the Valley of the Sun, it will be warming up into the low 80's today (83F is norm) and likely getting very close 90F territory on Thursday! The avg date for 90F is typically March 30th so we are doing pretty good in that dept. I will say, there is a nice signal for a longer period of warmth to develop late next week into the later parts of April. I'm sure there will be some 90's in the forecast post 10th.
  10. Nice upgrade for the Yoopers near MQT...
  11. Can't tell you how much this means to me to be able to track ULL's through the PHX Valley. This has to be the #3 or #4 ULL this season that tracked right overhead. Nature has been awesome for the SW region.
  12. Hello April! Will April showers...OR...Snow Showers...bring May flowers this year??? Greener grass?? Boy, the epitome of a west-based Greenland Block looks to rock over the GL's/OHV region into the Northeast. Gotta love it. I'm looking at a Live shot from Snowbowl up in Flagstaff and the mountain looks heavenly, with white gold, over 200" so far this season. Just beautiful to see...no joke, it looks like a place in Aspen, CO in the heart of Winter!
  13. It was a record snow day for the Flagstaff area yesterday...not only that, but this brings the season total up to 103.1" with more to come today and yet another trough this coming weekend! This is the 1st time in decades that the FLG area has received back to back 100"+ seasons. As you can see below, last year was a bountiful 150"+ season as most of it fell in FEB/MAR, iirc.
  14. Boom! Fantastic...I see those cells produce some very large hail that tracked just S of your area into C IL...
  15. The MJO is always a freaking crap shoot...JB touches a lot on the idea of underwater volcano's. I gotta give him credit, he may be onto something...with the low solar, it usually adds to more tremors around the globe and ignites volcanos. Interesting theory to say the least.
  16. Currently up in Flagstaff... Big Bear in So Cal is doing real good...with more on the way today into tomorrow...
  17. Happy Easter to all! It's been very windy since midday yesterday and the rain has finally made its way into the valley. It is snowing heavily up in Flagstaff. I'm watching the local TV news channel and the team is up on a live shot right now and its pure powder up there! Up to a Foot of snow will fall just today with more tomorrow. It's been 25 years since it has rained in PHX on Easter for the valley. This storm could become a record snow event up in FLG and rain event for PHX today. Let's see how it shakes out.
  18. This setup looks to be golden for your area and most of the MW/OHV.... @OttumwaSnomow should do real good...this is the epitome of the IA/MO warm front scenario at play which he discusses on here. Good luck bud!
  19. There's always "Next Year"...as some have been discussing on here, what can we look for when we go from a Strong Nino into a La Nina next Winter??? Survey says...(courtesy WGN) What does the Good Ol' CFSv2 indicate way out in lala land....last 12 runs...
  20. I’m planning on coming to Chi in early May for a bit to see family. I’m sure it’ll get better and I’ll try to dial in on the pattern in the weeks ahead. Sending you sunshine vibes!
  21. Easter Sunday is looking wet and cold around here which is NOT a common theme, in fact, the last time it rain and the temp held in the 60's was wayy back in 1999 (4/4/99). Ever since I've been coming out here, I remember enjoying Easter SUN with sunny skies and warm temps. Not gonna happen this year. I'm ok with, bc I'll be baking a Turkey and some Lamb. 0z Euro has some training storms across the I-80 corridor....this will be a common theme heading into APR/MAY, eventually lifting farther north later in Spring then Summer months. Troughs are going to be plentiful and this will be a signature storm every 45 days or so.
  22. 100% agree with your comments...my cousin sent me a Snapchat video of the brown grass, no leaves, cloudy skies and I just don't miss that at all. Makes you freaking depressed!
  23. Ya, I see what you mean....it would have been nice to see it early on in the season rather than early Spring when it'll be gone in a few days.
  24. Tao's Ski Resort in NM has also done really well with a fantastic # just next door...the past number of years, the mountains have been blessed with a lot of snowfall in the 4 corners region. I remember how badly the ski resorts were doing and its great to see that this trend has been broken over the last several years.
  25. Since yesterday morning, Snowbowl has received 32" of powder over the last few days and more throughout the day yesterday...Sunrise Ski Resort probably got nearly 3-4 Feet...but they are shutting down the resort after this weekend because of the lack of customers.
