February 2024 Observations and Discussion

Fargo's record low yearly snow total is a pretty big outlier, at 9.3". The fact that they're still below that is ridiculous. And I'm not even gonna mention Duluth's total. -

Endlessly warm and miserable on Euro. Not so much the case with GFS. -

Something typically very common for this part of the country that we have lacked basically all winter is wind chill. Yesterday and today are the first couple of days where we have had a real wind chill here this whole year. Even had to wear my coat yesterday when it was in the upper 20s. -

I'm ready for spring at this point, this slog of a winter is just ridiculous. May as well enter thunderstorm season and just get everything green. -

I will say that radar is set up a bit farther North than models had it. The northern edge of the snow is almost all the way at the top of Becker County, it was supposed to be here. Been seeing flakes for about 3 hours now. 27°F. -
I'm glad at least one of the comedy hosts out there have finally realized the low hanging fruit potential of BOTH candidates.

Colder, wetter look on Euro weeklies as we enter March. -

Or Alexandria, Minnesota. -
I sent that to my (significantly more conservative than myself) friend and he called it "disgusting".

Yes. I know. That's why I said that in reply to a post about Biden winning.

Looking like March before I get another feasible chance at plowable snow. This is such a waste of a pattern. At least I had it better in January than the Twin Cities in the sense that it actually looked like winter for 2 weeks. Absolutely brutal situation down there. -
And then Trump will run in 2028 when he's Biden's current age. Hooray!

God I want Euro to be right so bad. In a season like this I'd love a 5" daylight snowfall. The most I've gotten at once this year is 2" and it fell all during the night -

Decent storm on GFS next weekend for areas to my south and on east towards Chicago and MI/OH. Euro just ignores its existence. -

I'm actually seeing flakes fall for the first time in about a month. 32°F. -

Yawn. -
The Republican party is seriously embarrassing.

My local store has 6 single-occupancy unisex restrooms in lieu of men's or women's restrooms. I don't mind that either as long as the access to facilities doesn't go down.

GFS has killed almost all the measurable snow on the backside of the late week storm. Euro has it but I'm the southeasternmost county to get 2+ inches. Good news is a clipper pattern begins next week! -
Drunk driving is wrong regardless. Citizens and permanent residents of the US are punished for drunk driving. Hell, even legal immigrants face deportation if they cannot remain law-abiding. Obviously the penalties go up if someone is injured or killed as a result of drunk driving. So why shouldn't illegal immigrants, who shouldn't even be here in the first place, face deportation if they commit a crime in the country that they shouldn't even be in in the first place? It's not a race thing, I'd feel the exact same way if Canadians were making their way down here en masse.

Can't believe I'm conceding defeat to thermals in an upcoming storm in early February.

I'm glad you told conservatives how they feel for them!

KAXN hit 55*F on Wednesday. Needless to say that is a record.
