  1. Gfs shows a ridge the day after the ecmwf does and the nw flow just blows right through it and back to a mountain snow pattern.
  2. 2 years ago i missed some land on gold mountain at 1200ft, there is a small area of public land otherwise its state land or state forest. it was 40 acres. I would of been in heaven there. Massive difference in winter climate at that level.
  3. That looks like a awesome spot, I bet they get huge snow there
  4. Is there a bunch pf property for sale there?
  5. Going by what has happened the last 48hrs this might be real snow sticking
  6. Tim would you post a precip map please for this time
  7. From what i could find lake tahoe got between 48-54 inches over 3 days. Incredible storm but the wind was the real story. Some ski resorts were hitting 180 and 190mph!!
  8. The magic elevation around the sound is 1200ft. If you had a place at 1200 near the foothills you would have massive snowy winters.
  9. wow big difference at 750ft. Is that the highest area around there?
  10. Easy, you want to look at the wind at 850mb, over the last few days it has been ripping from the west and sw, tonight it switches from the north and north west so you will have upslope.
  11. The wind at 850mb has changed direction. You might not be shadow anymore
  12. I can't believe how many shots of snow there is for here on the gfs the next ten days. I doubt this is the last snow for the year I just had.
  13. Randy get ready, you are going to get blasted tonight. That meso low is going to park right near you.
  14. Randy will get about what I got, I am shadowed now. He could get 6 inches
  15. Another rain shadow for the central sound, that has been relentless this winter
  16. Odd for matlock to do good and you.not get anything isn't it?
  17. If the last 3 days would've been in December or just 2 degrees colder at 925 and 850 the entire area would've got smashed.
  18. I give it a c+. The 2 reasons it wasn't an f were the 15 degrees at work at 4:30 in the afternoon was amazing and the snow rate today was 4.4 inches per hr which is amazing for any lowland area in the nation. Normally those rates are high in the mountains or in lake effect snow. That was the fastest I have seen 2 inches fall here since 2019. Decent chance this is the last snow chance for places below 1000ft the next 2 days so it was a good way to send the winter off here. This is the first winter since 2016 I haven't had a large snow of more than 8 inches.
