  1. One of the most unusual set ups that I can recall in a long time. Crazy to think we could see all modes of storms in the morning; right when buses will be out picking up kids. Not ideal for sure.
  2. Jealous, you guys cashed in big time! Waiting to see if we get a little bit as the low pulls away. Not holding my breath, just glad we did see moisture.
  3. Things could get interesting around here… Models seem to start showing a heavy band setting up somewhere over Central Nebraska then making its way east..
  4. This would be March going out like a lion…..
  5. I was lucky enough to be in the path during the 2017 eclipse but totality was only like a minute. One of the most breathtaking experiences ever. I so was to experience it again but just too far away dang it. Will have to wait like another 30 or so years until the next one. Hopefully I’m alive for it!
  6. Glad you made it home safe; coming down 81 can be a nightmare when you throw in the blowing snow and that can make it even worse! Of course highway 30 can be just has bad; the worst of it is that 3 mile stretch coming into North Bend. Throw in those curves with the snow that can be a bad situation. The last storm we had they had a big pile up on that highway.

  8. Worst thing I have ever seen! Wow, when that band moved thru visibility literally was zero. I left school at 415 and couldn’t see in front of my truck. There are reports of multiple car pile ups including one just outside of town. Worst one is north of Columbus that involved over 50 vehicles. IMG_3159.mov
  9. It's pretty awesome Tom! We had about an inch of snow on the ground left over before the first storm hit. Everyday when I'm leaving work I just drive around and look at the drifts; it's so awesome taking it all in! Here is a video I made the day after the last storm. Untitled.mov
  10. It will be interesting to see how much snow begins to melt with the warm up coming up next week. I'm ok with the warm up it will feel good but just hope it doesn't do too much to the snow pack. Granted i have about 18" of snow on the ground and the drifts are huge; it will be interesting to see how much melting takes place. I'm sure will start to have fog days also with the melting; that could hinder some warm up days if fog can stick around during the day.
  11. Well went below zero friday night at 6. Will be tracking how long I stay below zero! So far here is what I got. Jan 13th: High -1 Low -15 Jan. 14th: High: -6 Low: -20
  12. What a relentless storm my goodness!! We still are experiencing ground blizzard conditions, all of eastern Nebraska still closed down! North side of town some houses are buried up to the roof tops! This will probably go down as the worst storm I have seen in terms of cold, blowing snow and drifts. I’ll get more pics when I can, god it’s just so cold when you take your glove off! Currently sitting at -10 with a windchill -29!
  13. I was the 10 inch report; so hard to measure. Drifts alone say enough. This storm has officially reached my top 5 since I’ve been alive. IMG_3131.mov IMG_3129.mov IMG_3125.mov
  14. Completely agree! The last storm we had wasn’t a warranted blizzard warning, this one is! I’m completely snowed in as all roads into and outside of town are closed. All plows are also pulled off the roads. Drifts are ridiculous.
  15. Radar looks very similar to what Jim flowers posted earlier. That sliver of heavier snow going west towards me from Omaha.
  16. Entrance into my town looks like this…. IMG_3111.mov
  17. Glad to hear!! Hoping all this moisture does wonders for my mowing business this spring/summer. Already running way ahead!
  18. Going to be an insane storm for us. Recorded this video around 5 today. 1.mov 2.mov 3.mov
  19. Currently 5 degrees! I can't remember a snow storm with this bitter cold and amount of snow being forecasted since December of 2000! You should remember that! I was a Junior in high school and we had 3 small storms before xmas and the temps were in single digits. I know Chicago did even better than we did!
  20. I expect that blizzard warning to be expanded. We went from literally nothing to visibility 1/4 mile in seconds. The snow started that fast. Drove around in it for 30 minutes and will put videos up soon but wow. Things are blowing like crazy, won't take long for country roads to become blown shut.
  21. Just another absolute crush job again in my area. This is insane; both storms so far as we get closer to the event the amounts keep going up and up!
  22. Holy smokes that just buries me and most of Eastern Nebraska!!! We would be shut down for days around here if this verifies.
