  1. Light snow leading to pixy dust blowing around. Gives me a nice winter feel at least! The ground temp is plenty cold as there is no melting what so ever. It's almost tundra like with how cold we have been. Nov. might go down as one of the coldest in recent memory. Now hopefully we can get something good moving forward this year!
  2. Models did a great job forecasting this storm. The gfs was perfect showing the amounts and track 5+ days out. Something to remember when tracking the next system!
  3. .03" for me on this one. Wohoo. Storm system leaves behind a cold dry air mass and looks like it will be that way for a while.
  4. Not sure this video does justice but man the low level jet is ripping from the southwest. All that low level moisture is just racing overhead. 65 degrees and 86% humidity in November…. IMG_2127.MOV

  6. It’s pretty amazing, samething happened to Columbus today! I don’t think I have ever seen something like this happen before.
  7. No way that this year can be as bad as last year for our area right? RIGHT??!?!!?!
  8. That’s a screaming jet right over central Nebraska. Might as well get LP supercells and hope for something interesting.
  9. I think today’s moderate risk is definitely living up to it’s potential. Not good. Obviously already damage from other tornadoes and then this guy.
  10. My digital gauge reads .15". It's my biggest rain event since Sept. 10th......when I received 1.63". Just crazy how long it's been since I have experienced anything more than a half an inch.
  11. Yep, just horrible luck and it continues @CentralNebWeather. Congrats to everyone getting the much needed precip.
  12. This can’t be right it was darn near 80 today and we don’t get precip in Nebraska…..
  13. Oct. ended up being one of the driest months for a lot of us. My county was the driest though......
  14. This is starting to look like another swing and miss for Nebraska. Storms get firing too late as the cold front pushes through too fast. Forecast went from 2-3" possible with the passage to maybe a .25" to possibly nothing. Not a good start to the LRC for my area. Still haven't seen precip going on 3 months.
  15. Glad you guys liked it! Sorry @jaster220 I forgot to submit the winter outlook! I must say he has some pretty awesome insights with weather and is very knowledgable.
  16. My neighbor has a giant oak tree; it seems like they take forever to drop all their leaves! My garden is in my back yard and I have a maple tree right next to it. It's nice that all the leaves fall right on the garden for my compost! I still have a couple rows of potatoes to finish digging before I till for the last time.
  17. Found this guy on Twitter and I must say he has some good insights with long range! Thought I would share. He was a former meteorologist who created his own YouTube channel.
  18. Incredible day today. Dust storms, fires, possible tornado close to norfolk, and now a cold front that might bring a shower. It was an interesting drive home from kc today.
  19. I seen that, Gary retweeted about it. Just crazy for all of us. Here is the smoke plume from south central Nebraska.
  20. Parts of south east Lincoln being evacuated. Just horrible. Here is a video of that grass fire.
  21. Was driving back from Kansas City today, took the family to great wolf lodge this weekend. The wind was horrendous, and there was blowing dust as we got north of Saint Jo. It only got worse from there, it’s horrible out there. We need precip in the worst way or we might be on our way to one of the worst droughts in a while….
  22. 85-86 was a dreadful winter for us, at least at Columbus and Lincoln reporting areas. Well below snowfall and lots of temp swings. Columbus didn't record a single inch of snow in the month of Jan which is very hard to do.
  23. Insanely dry! We we from 20 to 67 today. Dry skin is taking its toll….
  24. Haven’t seen rain in close to 2 months. Lord help us please; good to see a major storm setting up in the central parts of the US but man could I use just a bit of this precip.
