Almost 2 years worth of rain in Dubai today.
Imagine if North Bend saw 200” of rain in a day.
200” of rain would be quite the blessing. They need every drop they can get.

The only accumulation we’ve seen here the past couple of days has been pollen.

Cloudy and raining here

Much of the northern 2/3 of BC just had their 2nd to 4th driest March on record and they went into winter with high drought codes at freeze up.
Heard reports yesterday that ice is coming off the lakes in the Cariboo area about a month early. Apparently there is open water on Watch Lake, where our family cabin is, and it historically doesn’t melt out until the first week of May.

Been cold and wet, time for some sun and warmth!
Just 0.04” of rain so far this month here. Pretty dry. Monday might be kind of wet.

Cool and breezy today. Just a trace of rainfall.

Figured I wouldn’t win any of the 2 cool for ‘clipse crowd over with this description. Oh well.
This ultra wordy descriptive post read like something Phil would post.

I don’t remember schools closing up here back in 2017 or whenever the last eclipse was.
Has it already been 7 years since that happened.

Unsurprisingly many educators are taking a medieval approach to the eclipse.

Kids won’t be able to look at the sun when they aren’t at school . That seems insane.

I don’t understand spending a bunch of time and energy to see a two minute eclipse. Especially when we just had one here a few years ago. To be completely transparent I don’t remember much about it. I thought it was going to be the most incredible thing I’d ever seen, but it just got dark for a couple minutes and then the sun came out again. It’s rare, I get that, but other than that, we’ve all seen the sun go behind a dark cloud for a few minutes and come back out. It was like a more intense version of that.
The thought of flying across the country to see the sun go away for a couple minutes isn’t appealing to me either.

A little snow this morning. I missed out on the bulk of the rain, only 0.07" with the front.
That’s more than I got here. Picked up 0.03” with a shower just before sunrise. 33.6F for a low.

The Front was totally dry up this way. Enjoy your blessings down south. 40F

It could be an early start but the season is highly dependent on rain in May and June. All of those holdovers from last summer are under control.
