  1. Yep. Interesting to see the different pockets throughout the West.
  2. Yeah, this is one of those situations where the airport doesn't represent the metro area at all. I'm up to 9".
  3. March through June is my favorite time of year here. Tons of variability, big snowstorms in March and sometimes April, frequents thunderstorms with occasional severe weather in May and June, everything turns green, and usually not many 90+ days until late June.
  4. That area or the hills west of Fort Collins are where I currently plan to retire. With a place on a beach somewhere too, of course.
  5. Lull in the storm currently, but it's supposed to pick up again this afternoon and evening. 7.5" so far. Lots of places in the south and west metro have 12-16"+ already.
  6. The vast majority of people here are transplants (including myself!). Definitely a good number from Texas, but more from the Midwest, East Coast, and California.
  7. Not by me. "Overrated" is such a subjective term anyway, especially when you're talking about large states that have a ton of variability in scenery, terrain, climate, population centers, etc. As I've said before, I agree that Denver is an overrated city. And people have finally got the memo and stopped moving here in droves...we actually have had net emigration over the past couple years.
  8. I've only really explored Austin, El Paso, and a little bit of San Antonio. Wouldn't want to live in any of them, but they weren't bad places to visit in the spring and late fall.
  9. That would make more sense if we were talking summer.
  10. Can't enjoy a natural phenomenon unless you're in a state you feel politically safe. Science.
  11. Got pretty lucky in 2017...was with 5 friends and found a pretty isolated spot in the middle of nowhere (which is 99% of Wyoming). There were other people around, but we still had space. At the same time, having other people nearby was pretty cool because hearing everyone react to it at the same time sort of enhanced the experience.
  12. Heavy precip moving in here. Temp down to 37...
  13. Texas can be surprisingly cloudy in the spring.
  14. Nice. I caught a couple minutes of totality in 2017 in WY.
  15. Eh, those models are wrong pretty often. Looking at past strong Nino to Nina transition summers (I know there are other factors) here at least, there is no signal for a hot summer. Second year Ninas are reliably hot.
  16. Yessir! There will be a strong east/west gradient as that map shows, so I could see anywhere from 10-20" depending on how far east the heaviest precip extends. I'll be sure to post pics.
  17. Cousins has never won anything anyway. But he certainly knows how to maximize his paydays.
  18. Yep, WSW for 6-12". The 6z GFS spit out 15-24" for Denver metro.
  19. How do you know he hasn't? Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if antimarinelayer is ACTUALLY Mark Nelson.
