Definitely overperformed in the Waterloo area. Warning last night was for 5-9. 11 right now and still coming down. Over a foot at my place - slightly southwest of the Waterloo airport where the official totals are from

Thank you- too many storms! Figures that it’s been quiet for the whole winter and now it gets crazy. It needed to wait about one more week.

I’m hoping someone can help me. .. my son is supposed to fly out of Cedar Rapids very early Saturday morning. What kind of timing is the Thursday/Friday storm? And is there another storm showing up for the weekend? I’m getting confused with how many storms and which one is which and how many there are! His flight can be changed- and I’m trying to figure out if it would be better to change it to Sunday or if there’s another potential storm coming through. We may be threading the needle to get him out of here!

My son is currently in VT for grad school. They had a flood warning for rain and melting snow sun/mon. But he is now under a WSW for 4-16+ inches for the same time frame. Forecasters said it’ll be colder than they thought and it’ll switch over way faster. So it is snowing somewhere.

I was out earlier in Waterloo and the flakes were so tiny it looked like it was raining

Left at 7:30 to take the kid to school. Roads were fine. 20 minutes later driving back home roads were not fine. In the city. Thankfully everyone was driving super cautiously. (Cedar falls)

I don’t drive on ice. And I really don’t want to drive on ice to take my kid to the high school tomorrow where a bunch of 14 and 15 year olds are driving….
