    Yup. And remember couple days ago we had a discussion where I’d be more willing to wager on a 20F more so than I do a 14F or 4F. Have lived here for more than 3 decades to know better about this climate. This upcoming shot is great but we need to stop the trend.

    Which is why I asked the same question earlier. Don’t ever recall a flip within 2 days. I think there’s still a bit of time left but the window is fast closing. We’ll see how the models goes tomorrow but should be settled by Tuesday imo.

    I have to keep reminding myself we are in a Nino winter and if we can salvage some snow out of this, it’s a win. there had been a handful of dud winters since 2000. ‘04-‘05, ‘09-‘10, ‘12-‘13, ‘14-‘15, ‘15-‘16, ‘19-‘20

    At any rate, I believe we were spoiled by the extreme solutions the models had been showing the past week or so. At any given winters, we would be quite happy with what was shown tonight. This may be our only shot so everyone should enjoy it as much as they can.

    I wanted this to work out so bad for all of us. I want historic cold. A good true arctic blast. Maybe some day.

    What are people’s opinion on this? Is there time for a turnaround or are we now at a point of no return with these solutions? This was a gut punch.

    These are not small trends. Massive steps. Oh well.

    As expected when the GFS deviated away from the other models few days ago. Look like a compromise soon but the progression on the Euro need to stop.

    In just 24 hours. And this is the range where the Euro is deadly. Meanwhile, the GFS held its ground. Astonishing.

    The GFS is like an annoying fly that may end up being right. A bit bothered by it.

    Interesting that those models converged with the Euro while the GFS went in a different direction. Oh look! It did the exact same thing last few days.

    And the point I was making was no matter what you say, nothing is ever gonna change here. Preach on!

    This is nothing. Not even close to witnessing complete meltdown from a rug pull.

    So…. A couple degrees warmer in the teens?

    W.r.t the east shift movement, it’s basically going back to what the 12z was showing yesterday. Can’t call it a trend or anything. Should be fine.

    12z euro says the 00z run wasn’t cold enough.. so let’s make it colder?

    Rob is not gonna be around 4-5 days leading up to an event. He’s usually with his FB group and will check in occasionally.

    And some how some way. Heading into day 10.. it looks like this. Which isn’t deviating too far away from the Euro. i think it’s safe to assume this model is broken inside 5 days.

    He’ll ride and die with the American model and obviously his own. Post-event he’ll do a write up on what went wrong and acknowledged the Euro. Leading to next the event, he’ll cite the GFS and WRF again. Rinse and repeat.

    This model is a trainwreck and I’ll very surprised if it is right.
