Had some snow and sleet showers today, although nothing stuck.

Went to the local beach on Whitefish Lake today. People swimming, boating, beaching, and vibing. In April. In Montana. I feel like we're going to pay dearly for this bliss come August.

Some of our trees have buds... no blooms or flowers, though. Not even a dandylion. Probably a couple more weeks to go.

Gorgeous day wow. Did the 6 mile roundtrip hike to Beaver Lake, which is now completely melted and ice free.

Today has been a nice reprieve from mud season... other than the occasional snowfall, this time of year is the worst. A constant barrage of mud, rain, and snowmelt until July.

Could be the last snowy hike of the winter here.

Nothing is remotely close to blooming here. There are some green blades of grass in my yard, at least. Lower elevation trails are so muddy. Higher elevation trails are still snow packed.

Down to my last six inches of glacial snowpack, and Whitefish Lake is thawing. Can't wait for blue skies + temps in the mid 50s this weekend.

Barbecue's gonna clean things up

This vid was shot just east of East Glacier. They get some insane ground blizzards out there.

Bozeman still probably managed to average like 35" snow per year.

Da lat is on my shortlist of retirement destinations. It's got the only livable climate in SEA.
