The GFS is fading away to the south with Monday's snow system... way south of the Euro.

Average snowfall: ~30"

The Euro is still farther nw, but on all models the cold sector precip is junky.  The strong convection from the southern plains through the Ohio Valley steals the show.

At this point I’d be shocked to see anything fall from the sky. We just need to move on to hopefully a new pattern. Always tough to get out of a drought.

You are right, this weather pattern is designed to punish a band from Nebraska to southern Wisconsin. I will get my biggest snowstorm of the year after the ski hills are closed and the lakes are thawed so they can't open up the snowmobile trails (they've been open for two days  this winter). Once it's time for the heavy equipment and tractors to start working the fields I'm sure you'll get enough rain that the fields become a huge mud mess and it makes running those machines a nightmare, which will go excellent with the $5/gal diesel we'll be getting soon. This pattern absolutely hates us and it's meant to spite us.

The Euro is getting weaker... mostly junk snow that whitens the grass.

We have a nice line of storms moving through eastern Iowa this morning.  There is a lot of lightning.  The thunder is almost constant, but it's not loud.  The rain was heavy, briefly.  I received less than 0.20".

Had a couple rounds of thunderstorms roll through last night which dropped around .75 of rain in my backyard. It's nice to finally see some moisture, finally! Not a drought buster by any means, however anything will help right now.

Watching to see how the severe weather threat plays out today, looks like the action will fire up right on top of the Omaha metro and roll east however it's going to be a close call this afternoon!

Hope that Euro verifies, drops the heaviest band practically right on Tyrol Basin, it would make a trip out there on Tuesday very nice for me since my home hill is probably going to be closed. Looks like the heaviest rain is going north but it'll hit Cascade, but they have a massive base

Glad to see NE get some precip, cost of wheat is going through the rough right now, really need the best we can for farmers

Most models are showing a couple inches of snow in Cedar Rapids Sunday night.  Unfortunately, the timing is very poor for viewing.  It doesn't start til bedtime and ends before sunrise.

It’s 40.6 degrees at my house and 15 miles southeast of here on the other side of the metro it’s 57 degrees.

The front ended up a bit farther south than expected, that forecast of a Saturday in the low 70s turned into 40 and damp in Lincoln. A bit south in Beatrice, it's currently 69.
