Something crazy just literally went through my house. I don't know if it was a tiny rotating cell or what, but the wind was absolutely nuts and seemed rotational for about 10 seconds, then moved on through the fields and towards town.

Same exact thing happened here in McMinnville, OR about 1.5 hours ago.

We could clearly see the rotation from indoors. I didn't go outside but I went around to the front of our house and it passed without any real damage. Weird.

Yea, no damage here either other than some decorative grass ripped up and strewn around the yard. There was definitely rotation though. Crazy. I  was tempted to mPING it but didn't know what to report it as, lol.

Earliest warm-core outbreak that I can remember was February 22-23, 2002. Pretty strong, borderline severe at times squall line moved up the Willamette Valley after a pretty unseasonably warm day.

That is quite impressive.

Anyone else having issues with KATX? Checked RadarScope and it's not updated there since 3:30, and radar.weather.gov seems to be the same. API says it's reporting, though

Scratch that. It's reporting again on RadarScope

Shred it!

Landed in Everett around 2pm and the clouds were rolling in. Rain started falling around 3:45 when I left home to grab groceries. Definitely not in Arizona anymore.

Winco was probably at least 60% still masking.

This is looking like a Salem to Eugene event for rainfall mainly. Models have trended that way for a couple of days now.

They need it more than we do anyway 18z GFS trended wetter for everyone compared to the 12z

I ripped out a dead juniper and hauled some old contaminated drain rock up and dumped it on one of my muddy trails. My clean tractor lasted one day. Got windy for about 3 minutes, then started sprinkling, then stopped. But now it’s starting to rain again!

Can’t say the CVO reading seems perfectly accurate for here as there are puddles on the ground here, so OSU campus probably got more than that.

0.35” here so far.

The precip distribution of this current storm will be uncharacteristically fitting for our current hydrological situation; giving less rainfall to the soaked soils in Washington and BC, while bringing a fair dousing to a parched western OR.

In fact, much of the precip that will fall in the next week will be indiscriminatory Redding northward. A nice change of pace, for sure.

That 11/11-11/17 stretch, including itself as a member, is more than five standard deviations below the mean. There is no other year in which these dates average two standard deviations, cold or warm!

Yeah, before last June that was probably the most anomalous temperature event on record for the region. Numbers like the 21 degree high and 6 degree low at SeaTac, or the -1 reading in Olympia, would be top tier for any day of the year let alone in mid November. Seattle's 21 degree high on the 12th is actually earlier than Burlington, VT's earliest 21 degree high on record to add some perspective.

Truly absurd. And did you know that the 21°F on the 11th is also KSEA's earliest subfreezing high on record?

Not only that, but before that date, the coldest Fall high is 38°F, set in 1945, 1955, and 1985. The precursor conditions that must have existed in Canada to cook up such an airmass so early in the season....The perfect CAA and blocking setup. Truly phenomenal. Would not be surprised if such an airmass never materialized that that time of year during the little ice age.

BC scores over and over and over again while Washington and Oregon are very dry after Monday on the 00z GFS. The trend is not our friend. Thursday has already fallen apart. Saturday is falling apart. Beyond that, looks like ridge central.

Never underestimate the models’ ability to overestimate QPF for our neck of the woods.
