Not understanding what line #7 is referring to?

SEA normally has 94 days a year at 70+ degrees.    The most was in 2015 with 116 days.    The least was in 1955... which was back when we had an entirely different climate here.  👍

In the last 77 years the first 70-degree day occurred in February one time... 14 times in March... 49 times in April... and 14 times in May.

Ah. For some bizarre reason I read it as Feb 1st, and thought April 49 was a typo. Lol

Well it looks like the West Coast Perma-ridge is back. Looking forward to some rain again about mid-October.

I don’t think it’s a sure bet anymore. At least not to the extent I was worried about a few months ago.

Upcoming MJO/STJ element will favor the SW US more than the PNW for storminess, but the E-Hem forcing looks to return sometime in the middle of April.

The final warming has taken place, about one month ahead of schedule.

The north polar stratosphere has officially entered its anticyclonic warm season state, which will continue until late August or early September.

300+ hours out isn't even worth looking at. Well, unless it shows a 600 dm ridge and temps around 120. Then it will verify.

I don't even register what you are saying.  Today is the 12th day in a row with rain up here in the Seattle area and it looks like it will be raining all weekend as well.  A lack of rain is truly the farthest thing from my mind.

You say that the Eastern Hemisphere forcing is going to return in mid-April. Is this what has been keeping the ridging in the NE Pacific so persistent this season that has brought megadrought conditions to the majority of the western half of the country?

This month overall is going to end up normal for March. The last 2 haven’t been quite as interesting as 2019 or 2020. Definitely love springtime but by this point in the year the weathers very boring without the threat of actual significant winter weather…and we’re just waiting for summer to start.

March is my least favorite month of the year for many reasons.

Meteorologically speaking it's like tepid tapwater. The mid March through early April period in particular is just very, very boring. Late April into May and beyond, we can start getting thunderstorm outbreaks, heatwaves, aesthetic cloudscapes aside from stratoform gray.

Interesting how that’s basically the inverse of our climo. Autumn is the boring season out here. And the worst month is September.

For me March and April are just boring. Haven’t seen many thunderstorms that I can remember in late April. Can recall quite a few in May though. I like late spring early summer that’s when the warm rainfall season starts. Definitely looking forward to things being warmer and hopefully more interesting in a few weeks.
