Will pdx metro get another band on the wrap around or is this one it?

There’s probably one left but I think it’ll happen at or right after sunrise which will barely accumulate much. I think this is it for accumulation

We hit 38 at about 3:50am, went below freezing 20 minutes later. Light snow and 30 now.

If you look at the September 2020 wind event, February 2021 winter storm, June 2021 heat spike, and now this event. They were extreme solutions shown on the models, that I am perhaps others were skeptical about. Kind of amazing they ended up happening...

Fall of 2019 though... Also February and March 2020 had some decent troughs.

We rarely ever talk about 9/29/19. Might not see another September day like that for decades. Utterly smashed monthly max temp records across the region going back to the 1930s.

3/14/20 probably would have been a metro crippling event had it happened a month and a half earlier.

Did the snow make it to Salem? Where was the snow /rain line on I-5?

My brother in law in Vancouver, WA sent a cute photo of his kids on a snowy slide having fun. My wife took this photo earlier around sunrise at our hotel in Hood River278126618_10224193342254678_6200769809325469112_n.thumb.jpg.dc2855c80e205f07a28f708870fecc56.jpg.

Yeah, I just noticed the other day that the high of 48 at Silver Falls on 9/29/19 tied their all time monthly min max.

February 2021 was an insane airmass... just wish the Pacific cooperated. Runs were showing that massive Arctic blast going into California rather than Texas for a while, with just as insane model output. One of the GEM runs was showing single digit lows in Bakersfield and -40 in NE CA high plateau 5-6 days out, lol.

I think the snow made it to about Aurora. So about 15-20 miles north of Salem.

3/14/20 was a very nice late season trough too. Mid-winter that's a 2-5" event.

Awesome to see all of the snow reports out of SW Washington/NW Oregon.  Up here we are dealing with some decent winds out of the north, rooftops and cars were frozen this morning, but we have since jumped to the low 40's.   I can't wait for my D**n replacement thermometer to arrive today!
