I think this was brought up a few weeks back, but the sun continues to impress with its level of activity.  I have a space weather app on my phones that has been sending me so many notifications and alerts, I think my wife is starting to wonder if I have a girlfriend LOL!

Beautiful crystal clear morning here in Bellingham, currently 37 after a low of 32.

I tweaked my back mulching last week.

Must be getting older, that’s never happened to me before. 😭

Wet morning. Doesn't seem like a thunderstorm day. Steady rain, temps in the low 40s. Hit 35 this morning. If it clears out quickly in the early afternoon though we could be in biznaz.

Was surprised to wake up to frost and a thin layer of ice on my windshield this morning. I'm not in a good radiational cooling spot, so not bad for late April.

So happy to hear that!

Jet has been both invigorated and suppressed this last month. Essentially we’ve briefly returned to pre-1998 climo where Eugene is in the heart of the soaking baroclinic zone and Seattle is fairly dry and cold north of the jet.

EPS is trending that way as well.    The 12Z run is drier than normal across western WA over the next couple of weeks... and puts the mean trough position in the eastern US during the second half of the run.

You’re a f**king jinx. 🤬

Yeah, summer drought concerns are definitely significantly lessening now from about 45N northward, so down to central Oregon. Actually starting to work a little water year surplus now here locally.

Still at only 45 here with some light rain now getting ready to move out.

NAM doesn't show much popping off behind this, but the HRRR still has a line of showers or tstorms moving through around 4pm. It's going to take some significant clearing to get primed for much of anything.

I’d want the insurance against the 4CH below 40N, just in case.

But yeah, better chance to keep the hot monster suppressed south/east of the PNW this summer. Tropics looking much better compared to last year.
