I definitely know that people have different preferences and that is cool.  I just speak up when Phil acts like "everyone" wants and needs it to stay cold and wet and snowy... that is projecting.

The majority of the lower-48 is in a drought.

Yes, a cool/wet pattern is preferable to the alternative.

March 2021 had to be cooler. I remember that month matching a typical January's average low temperature at KLMT.

But dry though.

At Silver Falls March was about 2.6F warmer than last year.

Moving?  No.   That is silly.

But we are actively looking to buy a vacation rental property in Hawaii or maybe Isle of Palms in South Carolina.   Regardless of spring weather here.  ;)

Go with SC if you want to keep any money in your pocket.

While I could use a dose of warmth, we really need the moisture so I'll take it in whatever form we can get it at this point!

Uh, 4 of the last 5 days were in the 80s here and we fell just short of 90°F last Wednesday. Not to mention soils are the driest they’ve been since 2012 for this date..mowers are kicking up large clouds of dust.

Cool/wet weather is absolutely needed here.

No shortage over here. Maybe we're always just wet in Kentucky. We haven't gone more than a week without getting downpours since I got here.

I had to look up Isle of Palms as I had never heard of it. Is that the resort you were just at?

I have been looking at a possible second home in the Surfside beach, Myrtle, North Myrtle beach areas. Single family homes a few blocks from the ocean are still very affordable there and they let you take golf carts from your home to the beaches.

Original plan was to eventually get a condo in San Diego but financially that is no longer possible as everything down there is 750k plus.

You get more winter/spring precip than us during La Niña. Fits climatology well.

You also get more thunderstorms than we do during the summer months. Just a better climate all around.

Sunny and quiet in Bellingham... much more stable up here this evening compared to places to the south.

Yeah, I've been trying to keep my complaints down but it has been boring AF up here the past week.  It's working out nice for this weekend, but otherwise it is painful to see all of those amazing pictures of the storm clouds and dynamic weather down south.

It’s been what, 2 weeks since this cool pattern began? That’s a drop in the bucket in the context of the last decade.

If this was ongoing for 2 months, I’d have more empathy for those longing for warm temperatures. Even after so many warmer than average summers (not to mention the 1-in-1000 year heatwave that happened less than 10 months ago).

And there’ll probably be a warmer period late this month into the early part of May, anyway.

Go easy man, it's only been a decade since our last cold spring.

Yeah... been power washing my parent's deck this morning.   Beautiful day.    They are at the age now when they can't really maintain the house now.   Need to get them into something smaller... maybe assisted living.

All global models agree on a very decent amount of CA precipitation over the next week. Great news for them at a time when they desperately need some!
